First one in a while. Mixing might be kind of dodgy at points, just kind of a hit record and go (well, twice) thing.

Started enjoying some house records again lately and had the urge to record something.

Anyway, yeah. There it is.

This really just makes me realize how much I need to get off my ass and get something recorded. >.<

You managed to make it back!

I just needed a good long break from all things house and techno for a while.

It was good to separate myself from a lot of old bad habits, though I'm sure this is "par for the course" for a lot of people - or rather, what people would have expected - I still wound up just going and buying records kind of green again.

That was a good feeling.

My problem is when I try to "plan" a mix, I get way too into it, get too perfectionist, then lose interest.

The only thing I really do is play on TA radio, so I just never really get anything recorded. I just like playing "live" much better than planning out a mix step by step.

Ha! This started as just me buying then playing some tunes.

Then I liked basically all of an hour I recorded except for one track, so I just did it over again and played something else.

This is what came out.

The days of gigs at proper clubs are probably well behind me for a plethora of reasons, so calling this a "promo" is a massive misnomer. If someone books me, that's well and good, but I'm not actively pursuing anything these days so as long as I had a good time and I don't feel like it's awful, I don't mind throwing shit up.

I only drink beer....

One hour in so far, its pretty nice so far. Regarding the mixing, most the transitions are very short, tho this works nice most of the time. Ill keep this, great beer music

Glad to have you back behind the decks ROb ... I gave this mix a go , I do agree with some of the stuff you said about this mix ... the music is excellent, many of these tracks are definetly of my like , the programing though was off, not your usual thing. The mixing was decent.... I love how you blended Sleazy E ... very smooth I didn't even noticed the changes ...

Im sure the next mix will be so much better

also It would defo be nice to have you play on the TA radio bedroom sessions

you started with roberta flack and ended with the temptations. right on. the whole thing went down quite nice. it wasn't you best mix to date but i enjoyed it.

Thanks bud. Regarding the programming, to be honest, there really wasn't any - I just hit record and went with a bunch of tunes I'd just put together, so there wasn't any kind of forethought or the same attention to detail that usually had gone into so-called "promo" mixes.

This was a lot more about me just having a fun time mixing records than anything else, so yeah - might not go down as smooth as some of the stuff I put a ton of time into programming.

If there's one "trend" in dance music I've loved seeing, it's familiar old samples from the golden era of motown/r&b reemerging prominently.

Glad you enjoyed it Tony.
