What happened to this place??
I haven't been on tranceaddict in quite a while, only to find out the PDD is completely dead. How did this happen?
Mostly bots selling wedding dresses and credit card dumps.
It's Obama. Sadly, it's true.
Still though, why hasn’t Q5 been in here to rail against obama’s failures?

Pretty dead. I do miss Magnetonium, Epicurus, Opus and Firestarter's posts and deliberations. Those were the days.

The New World Order has won! Apathy has consumed the masses. Everyone is drugged by their televisions, their smartphones, their internets, their micro-wave popcorns- they can't find time to care about thing things that are most important in life! Like raising a family and voting, etc.!
!!!
haha agreed, but the point is this place existed despite your cartoon for a number of years. i said in another thread its simply demographics- the 18-25 age group that used to post here simply grew up and had other things to occupy them.

yeah, there is probably an element of that too. and i do agree, obama has been a disappointment (even to an outsider). however, i also think the level of political paranoia caused by bush and co died down somewhat once a new administration was elected, hence less posts here.
i would also like to take some small credit for mocking and berating the conspiracy theorists enough to have most of them leave for greener pastures. hell, i did get trancer-x banned after all
by 2007-08 they seemed to be the most regular posters in here
mostly i miss renegade and occrider; always had something to learn from them. arbiter and moral hazard still post in the COR occasionally though.
I still visit every 4-6 months . Obama really had no say in the matter I'm sad to say ... it's been more so a function of me moving to my job in ny and working all the time ... and I guess being 6 years outside of that 18-25 year old age bracket
Can't say I've been overly disappointed in Obama ... I've never had any delusions as to what he really was ... pretty much a centrist republican, which is what I am. Progressives who thought that he was going to be some kind of FDR reformer never really understood that his platform was never really hardcore liberal. Granted he's definitely a social progressive albeit at a slow pace (doma, dadt, etc.). But in other aspects he's anything but. Obamacare is nothing but Romneycare at large ... a republican platform (and probably more nonsensical than Bush's medicare part D). He's extended the Bush tax cuts. I guess you can say that from a fiscal standpoint, he's Bush except that he's focusing more spending on domestic agendas such as stimulus and unemployment insurance than spending it on ill conceived wars (one may argue libya is ill conceived but to be frank it's nowhere near Iraq).
Anywho ... little bit surprised at how dead this place got. No one is getting incensed about the debt cieling debate?
You got trancer-X banned? How exactly did you accomplish that? I mean I kinda figured it was only a matter of time given how ... extreme some of his positions were ... but all the same what was the tipping point?
haha, speak his name 3 times and he appears! occrider = beetlejuice.
we've missed you!

trancer-x said the same thing. "pkc ruined the PDD", lol. they have no realisation of the fact that the people who really made the PDD special, were never the ones that were mocked or scoffed at by myself or anyone else. the irony of course is that the quality of discourse here had gone way down hill largely due to paranoid dickheads like magnetonium. this place became a festering sore of conspiracy BS, hardly any real topics were discussed anymore. certainly none of the great minds were interested in the 100th 911 thread or similar.

Originally posted by Magnetonium I see a lot of irony in your statement. You rarely if ever posted in the REAL discussions and one would ALWAYS find you in a 9-11/conspiracy related thread. And they always went on for pages thanks to your input. Hypocrisy? Every time a word "conspiracy" pops up in any TA discussion (like the one recently, hint hint), you're like a magnet - already there. |

Originally posted by Magnetonium At first I participated in some of those 9/11 discussions, but then I saw a pattern (hint hint) and stopped posting in 9/11 threads. Also, when it comes down to "real" serious political discussions ... well, you weren't there that much. |

Originally posted by Magnetonium If all the "paranoid dickheads" like me and trancer-x left (oh and by the way - please do find a 9/11 thread that I STARTED, good luck with that!), then how come the smart special TA's didn't continue on contributing to interesting new topics and discussions? |

Originally posted by Magnetonium I bet you don't even remember half the stuff that I posted anyway. |

Fair enough. I am still interested in politics, but to be honest, and as you said, I don't have much time for it. I don't have a family, but I do have many other time-consuming hobbies (and jobs).
Many good and interesting discussions here on PDD back in the day.
These days the only place for good political discussions are on political forum websites, not a sub-forum of a music website.
Who knows, maybe I'll give some topics a bit of input. I just hope it doesn't turn out like last time ... and my local TOTA forum, there can be no good discussions there, people present their points like children or are just not serious (ridiculous comments).
