what do you guys use to finish off a track?

what do you people most use to finish off a track ? as in mastering..

I cant seem to achieve this real song quality where the percussion .. hi hat.. drums blend into the music very smoothly.. so its like flowy instead of chunky if u get wut i mean?

coz now i just use some mastering plugin in sound forge.. but seems like i still cant achieve the real pro song quality? like to make the sound of the whole song more 3D ... if thats how u say it

check out my track its a slow track.. tell me whats missin? it seems the drum isnt blended into the song's melody smooth enough ..

oo i just got the Izotope ozone mastering plugin.. it seems to be the one thats giving me that quality now
anyone using it? have any recommended presets? or any to download?

ozone is definately the best one I've used.

as for presets, better stay away from them. should just adjust everything to fit each individual song.

I think the 3d effect you're trying to get is achiefed with a stereo spreader.

I like Ozone too, but the Waves native gold bundle, T-racks and the software from PSP is good too.

I believe all of them contain a stereo spreader.

Hey Gareth I installed the Izotope Ozone mastering plugin but where in the hell do I find it in order to use it? I'm using Soundforge 5 and nowhere in the menus does it appear. Also, Sonar 2 it is absent as well. What drop down menu is it supposed to appear under? The documentation is kind of weak in this area. It says it can work under any DirectX app but how and where within the app should it be? I also use Goldwave and I would like to use it within it. Sorry if this sounds retarded but I'm at a loss here. Thanks!

I was under the impression that DXi's register directly in windows so the app should realize it's there right away. Did u check every drop down menu thoroughly? Isn't there a DX favorites drop down where u have to select the plugins you want to see?
