Worst contest ever

Wendy's has a "kick for a million" contest right now, and you gota kick a 50 yard field goal.

this is the only guy to do it i believe. I could never kick a 50 yard field goal

How bad do Canadians get taxed on shit like this?

Also, he's better than most NFL kickers in the league lol

Or is he a one trick pony?

Wow the compression and pixellation in that vid are exactly like aussie digital tv broadcasts.

A CFL Yard is a meter...

50 metres? Still a piece of piss. We grew up playing football & rugby, you learn how to kick a ball, then again it is called football for a reason.

A meter is shorter than a yard.

EDIT

EDIT: Actually, this is a much better example. The goal is 50 yards away from the ball:

Not wanting to sound cocky or anything but I managed to hit the crossbar from the half-way line many times, it's something I do with a few team mates after a training sometimes.

Is that guy winning those millions dollars really the only person who pulled it off? I find that a bit hard to believe.

Posted by VDub on Aug-04-2011 23:45:

Guys, if it was that easy, do you think they'd be giving away a million bones???

Posted by srussell0018 on Aug-04-2011 23:59:

I barely kicked a 30 yard field goal once. No way I could hit a 50 yarder.

It's infinitely easier to kick a soccer ball that far than a football.

Yes but it doesn't take much to realise where to kick a 'football' to get maximum purchase out of it.

Is that why David Beckham broke the field goal record on the first day he ever tried kicking an American football?

Yeah? And how far can he kick a soccer ball? A professional soccer player who has been kicking things his entire life broke the NFL field goal record HOW SHOCKING!

That also doesn't take into account the fact that NFL kickers have to kick the ball at an angle where the 6'5 lineman that are 5ish yards away can't jump up to block it.

Save me the tepid sarcasm, son. I've still got a PM in my inbox with your parents' phone number. You don't get to act up in the COR anymore, remember?

The point is that most of us Brits (and most people in the world, for that matter) grow up playing "soccer" and so we've all been kicking things our whole lives. An American football may be harder to kick, but as Beckham demonstrates it's the same basic technique. The idea that you could win a million dollars for kicking a ball 50 yards is pretty ridiculous to us.

Also, you need to watch much more attentively if you think that ball is 6'5 off the ground when it's travelled 5 yards in the Beckham video.

Are you really threatening to call my parents because I made a sarcastic comment? Grow up.
