Anyone know of any good sites which use ORON.com primarily for sets/tracks etc for all types of music?

PM me...

Thanks!

With all due respect, please don't use TOTA as a means to ask for help re: how to download illegally shared music - it offends me as a producer.

werent you gloating about the fact that you had a premium rapidshare account in the past here? good thing you're not a game developer, movie director or in the software application business, then you'd be monumentally pissed.

the best was "as a producer". swinging that cock around like anyone has ever paid for one of his "tracks".

With all due respect as well, how about you inquire what it's for?

Firstly - Sets, they are free already, just looking for an easier way to get them...

Secondly - I prefer to download tracks before I purchase them, most times the little clip on Beatport or Juno does not do it justice, nor can you sample, review or check out music while driving or walking or at work. Once I find what I like, then I purchase them

Thirdly - I know, know of and friends with many "producers", and I support each one of them by purchasing their tracks, I think I may have even purchased one of yours during your "Please buy my track/remix rants pity me/give me karma" posts...

Fourthly - I don't know how much money you make, but I listen to the music, I don't make money from it, I don't sell it, and I cannot afford to buy every piece of music out there that I like, but when I find something I really like I will support. In the end I think a "producer" would rather have someone listening to their music than not.

Next time don't prejudge anyone's intentions without inquiring as to why, because I was just trying to find some good new music...

Your preconceptions of my intent offends me as a avid music fan of all genres.

Ohhh, also, hearing about people's inner thigh rashes offends me as well.

isn't Oron mostly a porn host ?

My only reply:

1. You're asking for help re: how to steal music more easily - which is exactly what I called you out on as I spoke only about productions and said nothing about sets. There has been no misinterpretation of your intentions on my behalf:

2. Producers do not want people stealing their music - period. Do not try to justify your actions by suggesting that stealing is acceptable because it leads to more exposure of artists' sounds. That point is true, but it doesn't make your behaviour any less deplorable.

3. It seems to me that every person that owns a computer these days downloads pirated software/games/movies/music etc. I take offence when people like you blatantly and publicly reveal your desire to steal music and ask others how to help accomplish the theft.

4. I've never once asked anybody to 'pity' me, simply to support my music as a local DJ/producer in the Toronto scene. I'm incredibly blessed and thankful for the fact that my music is supported by many friends, fellow music enthusiasts, and a number of very talented and successful artists (from Anthony Attalla to UGLH to Sharam of Deep Dish).

5. It's absolutely pathetic for you to mention the fact that I've used TOTA - a community full of many people whom I know in real life and care about - to discuss and seek advice for my chronic pain. I suffer from Allodynia...not a 'rash'.

6. Fuck you.

I wasn't "stealing" to give exposure, I was "stealing" to see what I like so I can purchase it. Think of as:

Trying clothes on before you buy them and having a return policy on them afterwards for a small period of time if it just doesn't fit or go with anything.

A Library where you can check out and read alot if you enjoy reading and can't afford to buy a new book each day. And when you find the book or author or genre you really like, you go purchase those ones or more books.

A movie rental store where you can check out some movies, and then purchase it on BluRay afterwards because you know you're going to watch it again, show other people, or just want your own official copy.

Test driving a car before purchasing...

Flipping through a magazine before buying...

I could go on and on...

You're going to be super pissed when you find out that people...

Speed
Do drugs
Drink and Drive
Have unprotected sex
Lie
Cheat

Sharam of Deep Dish?! Really? Like you think anybody on this fuckin board doesn't know that Sharam is a part of Deep Dish?! You HAD to add that part, there you go again boasting and promoting and being a pompous twat..."Look at me and who I know"

I do, at home... but it's not a feasible solution when I just want to dump a bunch of tracks on a memory card and skip through them in the car, or put it on my phone and listen to them at work while doing mundane reports etc.

In the end, I don't have to prove to anyone whether or not I purchase the music afterwards, or what I do with the music I download, or why... I have my reasons for asking and was simply asking for suggestions.

Posted by LightsOut on Aug-11-2011 04:14:

I personally see nothing wrong with the original post. Sure, piracy isn't the most ethical thing, but it happens and we all do it.

If your a producer, 95% of the people who have your track didn't pay for it. In an ideal world maybe it wouldn't be that way, but thats just the game now. Same with software developers and film makers.

Mach X didn't post any pirated material himself or ask people to post links publicly, he asked to be contacted via PM. TOTA is a small community and for the most part we all know eachother, this isn't yahoo answers.

Look at the iphone thread. Page upon page of info about jailbreaking and hacks. I know theirs a difference of course, but lets be realistic, its marginal at best.

As novel as it is to pretend everyone will buy all the mp3s they have you need to be realistic with the times and understand people aren't going to put themselves in piles of debt just to have a legal mp3 collection. His music might not be your cup of tea but this is the right attitude imo:

More Monsters and Sprites is out right now.Just got to beatport.com and search skrillex and click more monsters and sprites EP.The support REALLY goes a long way so if you can afford it then please make the purchase!beatport is more expensive because you can download higher qual wavs which is good for DJs/production/remixing/edits and all that.If you cant afford it then find it on a blog or something.just get it!♥

Here's a preview of my next mini Ep coming out. 3 new tracks and 4 new remixes of SM&NS that are a bit more experimental. It comes out on beatport june 7th so please take note and support the release! If ya have a couple spare bucks then please buy the tracks, if not then just torent them. Most important thing is that yal get the music, but the extra support always helps http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LhDmt2sntXE

i was going to say..many producers simply ask you to buy but if someone downloads their shit they don't mind. i personally do not but if you like it you will buy it legally.

watch dj harveys interview from redbull music academy, he simply says the exact same shit, if someone downloads his music and doesn't buy it, he just doesn't really care unless someone is really profiting off his work.
