Winamp 3 ROCKS!!!!!!!!!!!

i just DL and the best thing about it is the skins...no more one rectangle skins..now skins are in any shape and form...

agreed! I love the new skins...I just cant decide which one to use though (2.8 or 3.0). I hate how long it takes for 3.0 to start up, that was always my favorite thing about winamp was how quick it played a song if i clicked on it. Tough decision...

thats to much man, i dont like it, i like the old fashion Winamp, just click and play, no 1000:s of gizmos and shit all over the player.

Hmm..wow skins that aren't recangle. I can get that for Winamp 2.x.

I still think Winamp 3 is homo.

I DL'ed it, but uninstalled it. I use many of the plug-ins from Winamp 2.80, and found that Winamp 3 didn't have them.

Unless I'm mistaken and have overlooked it, Winamp3 doesn't have all the kewl plug-ins. Maybe in some future releases I'll upgrade.

i downloaded winamp 3 a few weeks ago and deleted it cuz it was crappy and had like 2 skins so i decided to stick with 2.8 until 3.0 got better

Winamp 2.80 with a few plugs (Album List + EZ Playlist) is fundamentally perfect. I have no reason to switch to Winamp 3. 2 is just so damn good.

Besides, those skins for 3 look like WMP-type things.... and I hate those kind of things.

I used Winamp 3 for like... 15 minutes. The skins are interesting in a "I look like Sonique/Real Jukebox/other crappy player way", but they get annoying as hell quick. Winamp 2.x is nice and simple. I'm sticking with it for now at least. :X

that and it is an unstable piece of shit.

winamp 3 skins are l33t thats for sure but in terms of simplicity and shortcuts.....i give it a big fuck you gay ass winamp thumbs and toes down...song jumping shortcut suck ass dude wtf...they should know by now that people have tons of mp3s and jumping to a song they wanna hear would be helllllla important but they had to make it all weird..im stickin with winamp 2.8 =/

I still fail to see the purpose of skins, considering most of the time winamp will be minimized/in the background Winamp 2.x is fine for me, dont need anything fance, just something to feed the addiction

Winamp 2.8 is better cuz it's much more simple and who need all those "cool" stuff that makes winamp goes slower....you just need to hear the motherfucking music!!!!

I'm glad I read this thread before I downloaded it and installed it. after reading these posts, I think I'll stick with 2.8

IMO.. winamp sucks big ballz!!!! its so unstable... windows media player is so much better... sometimes simplicity is the way to go.

It always works fine for me, and as for the plugins, there's a component that lets you use 2 ones with 3.

Exactly my thoughts. I used to have tons of skins, now I only have the base skin (Winamp 2.8)

A friend of mine had the beta awhile ago .. said it was a killer app. Now he takes it all back LOL



I prefer winamp 2.x simply because it's simple - it plays the music, and has literally thousands of plugins to make it do what you want (eg I have a cue file plugin, an alarm clock plugin, etc)

No bulky "bloatware" shit that Micro$oft, RealNetworks, MusicMatch etc stick in their crappy software...

Winamp 2.x forever..

Hmm, pointless. Skins like that are avaliable for Winamp 2.8 aswell. I just don't see the point in all the extra junk with Winamp 3. Slows everything down.

It just LOOKS nice. Skins like that are not avalible for Winamp 2, at least not in that shape - Winamp 2's are all in the same shape.

And, some people LIKE the extra stuff. They're not designing it purely for you.

Any chance you could post the url of this? As that is the only flaw i can find in winamp3 is that it isn't backwards compatible!

for now i'll stick with the original 2.xx winamps......they are the bomb
