Going to become a Washington D.C TA! Got some questions.
Whats up everyone. My name is Simon and I will be moving from Florida to the Washington DC Metro Area for work. What are the good clubs in the area? Do you usually get good talent? Is the metro the best way to get in and out of DC?
I look forward to the move and I also look forward to meeting some great TA's! I have met some great people from the Florida forums and hope to do the same in the DC area! Ill be totally moved by Sept 1.
Thanks a lot and hope to meet some of you soon!
Simon

I live in NY but work in DC and am doing some events there with NY talent.
The agency I'm working for represents a few of the DC djs/producers, so I'm familiar with what goes on on any given night
hey chaska, do you promote in DC?

Wow, I need to check TA more *sigh* i'm sort of starting the miss the part where I get to dance on the floor and go crazy :-(
I live in DC and do social media, provide online content (Glow TV, Glow Radio w/ Des McMahon, articles, etc) and deal with artist management sometimes.
We have a Thursday party at Lima. Bookings in the last year include everyone from Joris Voorn, Timo Maas, Steve Lawler and Boris to Chuckie, Calvin Harris and Laidback Luke.
We're starting a new event on Fridays at Josephine. It takes a sophisticated, miami lounge-style approach to EDM with the dancefloor and VIP/bottle service area blending. Upcoming bookings include Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano, Mark Knight, Cedric Gervais, Fedde le Grand and more.
And of course we have Saturdays at Fur. ATB, Kaskade, Avicii, Armin, Markus, Ferry, Steve Angello, A&B, David Guetta, SvD, Cosmic Gate, etc.
We also have Skrillex Mothership Tour Coming up, some DC Armory 10k person massives planned, Dayglow, and a deal with live nation that has us doing events at the fillmore - moby in october and a super secret 2 day show next month.
We have a free admission pass on our facebook fan page: Glow Washington DC
you can find future line ups on clubglow.com
As Chaska said, the 88 and Life parties are sweet. Life does guys like Lee Foss, Wolf & Lamb, Thug******, Maya Jane Coles, Chris Fortier, Mr. C
88 has brought Richie Hawtin and Gaiser and other kick ass techno artists. Their parties have an amazing eclectic vibe.
88 and life do their parties mostly at The Loft/Warehouse, Sweet Spot and U-Hall.
Was just talking to Chaska last week about the amazing things she's doing here, strengthening the local scene and providing some really dope techno options as well as bridging the NY-DC gap.
U-Hall also has some amazing moombahton parties, as the genre was invented here in DC as well as kick ass bookings (Charles Feelgood, etc.)
If you like dubstep and/or drum and bass you can always party with the 3D guys. They book artists like Hulk and Goldie

We try! Was very nice to get to chat with you for a while.
I had people coming up to me all night to say it was some of the best music they had heard in DC in a very long time. Even the management of Funxion was very happy with the music we brought.
We are having our DC showcase @ Sweet Spot on the 26th with 4 locals who play a bit of everything (no techno this time though), mainly prog and electro for the night (Info HERE). We have this kid playing with us who was Dubfire's last protege before Dubfire left DC to tour all over and start Sci+Tec. Good stuff
We are also planning to do our second Set Sessions in September, will give you confirmation sometime next week
Welcome!
Our next party is on Aug 26 with Russ Yallop and Richy Ahmed (Hot Creations) at UHall
