Guess who just guessed correctly! Shit yeah!

*clenches fist, wrist upward, slowly retracting elbow with a stolid look of gratification upon his face while dramatically peering downward*

I deserved that.

Cmon, the guy had on a bottom, though! That has to count for something.

Certainly says a lot about TTs, CDJs are awesome pieces of technology but always felt like a newb way to spin. Technics are all you need brah.

That's a faulty statement. If they still sold playable vinyl, then yes. Now, you'd need Technics, A laptop and Serato/Traktor. Until you can just hook the vinyl record up to you computer, upload a couple of songs, then play them on the technics, you're still gonna need too much stuff for TT's to be a just-as-easy option as CDJ's. (talking exclusively from a setting the shit up-standpoint, you'd still need skills ofc)

Did they stop selling them yesterday or something?

Yeah, re-writeable records are the future.

It's funny how mp3s should make things simpler, but you end up buying MORE kit these days.

Most nightclubs (that I know) have CDJs installed as a default, so they're good to know in case the promoter doesn't allow you to hook up your own kit. Some clubs barely have enough room in the booth for a laptop and midi controller, let alone TTs.

Of course, if you're a DJ that only plays vinyl, the promoter is probably going to know that before they book you.

edit: It should be said I'm mostly talking about the trance scene here, where thanks to the big labels vinyl is all but dead. The techno and deep house parties are much more vinyl-friendly from what I've seen.

As opposed to the non-playable vinyl?

Did you regret buying it or are you trying to upgrade to the CDJ2000?

Haha, more like 6-7 years ago. I find it's pretty hard discovering anything but the more commercial stuff, unless you really stay on top of the stores to get the more underground stuff. And I of course mean commercial in the broadest sense of the word.
