I think we should make one thread a week dedicated to how cool this guy is...

Seriously though, The best "Deep","Pixie","progressive" trance producer around and it sounds like he is only getting better. As trance slowly transforms from yesterdays sounds into...

Posted by TranceSeeker on Aug-20-2002 17:50:

I'm a big fan of him, you didnt even mention...

Main element - take me down --> OMG first heard at s&d delta heavy tour in miami

and

Ariane - eternity (2001)

Such a masterpiece, simple beats but ooooh sooo brilliant

Posted by torontotrance on Aug-20-2002 17:53:

his first light remix brought me to tears, the first time, i ever heard it. So beautiful.

Posted by Sand Leaper on Aug-20-2002 18:10:

Yup,James is da MAN!!!!You simply can't go wrong with him."Bloodlock" from Sasha's album should be mentioned here, too. One of his most spine-chillingly beautiful works ever. And I assume you meant nasty in a good way,Andy.

Got to agree with you guys. Holden is young too...in his early 20's.

And don't forget his amazing "One For You". I love that record.

Is Holden behind Main Element? I always liked that track "Generation"...

Well, actually (as tu_face told me) Main Element is actually Gwill Morris, who - as fate would have it - is licensed to Silver Planet (the Record Label Mr Holden owns) yet doesn't actually have anything to do with Jimmy production wise.

Anyway, for all the good stuff he's done (and he is arguably the best prog producer in the world at the moment) his best tracks are Timo Maas vs Mog Dogs (his Remix) and Horizons.

Gidee Up.

You are so right...James Holden's productions own. He is probably the best and most innovative progressive out there now...listening to his music makes your head feel all weird (and thats in a good way).

Posted by webbie on Aug-20-2002 19:12:

Lets not forget James Holden - I have put out the light.

I seem to be the only one alive that actually likes it, but,
its still a masterpiece.

HELLOOOO!??!?

How can u forget Horizons..and his Accadia mix...

Posted by billu on Aug-20-2002 19:41:

from what i beleive Gwil Morris is part owner of Silver Planet records...with james holden .... Gwil Morris is also a active Docter...hes a surgion or some shit ....fuckin crazy ....

james holden is class always has been..to me he isnt really progressive or trance ..he has his own destinctive style ..personally his tracks fit well in a progressive set to give a prog set some shed of light ... but he is truely talented very unique producer ...a lot of his fellow silver planet folks ..Gwil Morris (main element), Yunus, etc ..have that similar style of tracks..but james holden is the first to really come out with that distictive trancy progressive house what i would call it ....oh yeah for the person that mentioned ogenki clinic the holden rmx..well ogenki clinic is james holden ...its on Essay Access which is a Sub label of Silver Planet

Yeah man, Horizions is the biggest tune from 99 ! It is still a favourite from mine and always will be. Im going to get stuck into some holden stuff after this post, thanks for the inspiration !

Posted by Spad on Aug-20-2002 23:24:

If anybody's yet to hear his essential mix, download it. Pure silk in a stereo. Or something.

Posted by dj willie whop on Aug-20-2002 23:31:

if you like holden be sure to check dj nukem and chab...very similar styles

Posted by Luke Terry on Aug-20-2002 23:44:

Cool

the holden remix of janiero when pressed was actually embedded with poo granules from james to make it truly dire

Posted by wookieslut on Aug-21-2002 02:09:

you should check out "nothing" its his best song so far i think

Posted by mastercongo on Aug-21-2002 02:13:
