Iniesta to Ronaldo

What is Iniesta saying to Ronaldo at the end of this video?

Posted by digitalbreach on Aug-19-2011 20:16:

"no puede ser, no"

This can't be happening.

Posted by sensorium on Aug-19-2011 20:23:

"Es que no puede ser, no puede ser. No?"

Translation: "Refs always favor us, more in the Champions league, and today Villa said something about religion to Ozil. A bit too obvious, right?"

What do you mean so? So Ozil responded as expected. You can't have some idiot like Villa, who was out of the match anyway, provoke another player like that. It's like Pinto, in the bench always ready to go in to provoke someone.

I think I know what is Mourinho's problem.....

In my opinion Mourinho's dream is to beat Barcelona at Camp Nou one day and he is really DESPERATE about it !!!! just to describe how desperate he is, I am going to use one of his quotes "it's not dream it's an obsession"

Mourinho has already had 9 attempts to Beat Barcelona at Camp Nou and he has failed on all 9 occasions infact i remember when he lost 1-0 in the champions league semifinal to Barcelona with Inter Milan he famously said "this is the best defeat in my life" that just shows how desperate he is. He is probably thinking if it wasn't for Barcelona's dominance I would have won more champions league titles possibly with Chelsea and Real Madrid.
Poor kid keep trying all your life and you will never succeed, because Barcelona are the best in the world.

Posted by sensorium on Aug-19-2011 20:57:

That wasn't the topic being discussed.

I personally don't like Mourinho in Real. The team owners have made some stupid decisions in the past but getting Mourinho was the worst of all.

The only reason I would watch a Real match again would be to see Kaka play. But his level is not the same right now, you almost feel sorry for the guy when he's out there.

Still Ozil's reaction is not justified... talking trash is a part of football and many other sports, if as a pro-player u can't manage to handle that then you should dedicate yourself to something else.

Also

Visca Barca

I enjoy watching Ozil play so I watch some Madrid matches for that reason. I don't think it's been confirmed that Villa said anything about religion, or Islam. The quote came from an Ozil imposter twitter account... at least that's my understanding of it currently.

either way, fuck real

I saw Mourihno smacked one of the Barca assistant coaches too

Posted by Zyklon_Jay on Aug-19-2011 21:37:

what a punch of poofters.

in a real sport they would have beaten the shit out of each other for a bit and then go back to playing. like men.

Interesting. So following your reasoning, racism can also be used as trash-talking? And since it is the player that should handle it all, are the fans also permitted to use racism in their chants because the player is a pro? Trash-talking (chants) from the fans also counts as part of the game, right?

It was more of a pinch in the eye.

Can someone fill me in on what happened?

Posted by Lira on Aug-19-2011 21:45:

Can't they make that even more dramatic?!

That background music is so epic I could swear the newscaster would say at some point "And here we see Carvalho - who recently converted to an Ancient Aztec religion - drawing a knife and slaying all his team mates in a sacrifice to the Sun Goddess... until, that is, Ozil and Duke Nukem stop the carnage with a couple of HK-47's they happened to see laying around"

it was a question to djhaziel. so the fact that you didn't get it doesn't really matter.

Have you ever been to a football match or played football at all? .... lol ?

Racism is a criminal offence. Trashing religion is not.

Yes to both, actually. Thanks for ignoring my questions and thus cowardly walking away from this.

The point I was trying to make is that FIFA has been trying to eliminate racism from the game, more in Europe where it is more pronounced. So the organization wants it out of football, not used in any form of trash-talk.

The questions directed to you were to see where you stood on this, if there was a line for you in all of this.

Anyway, back on topic, religion itself can be a delicate issue for a lot of people, even if they happen to be pro. In any case, it hasn't been confirmed whether Villa said something about religion or not. But you can see in the video that Ozil did respond furiously, not after the pushing from Villa nor from Valdes, but after something else happened that couldn't be seen. What's curious from that part is that Villa and Ozil got sent out but Valdes didn't. He was the one that requested the card for Ozil.

I wouldn't be surprised if this stays as it is. The league will protect its reputation and that usually means closing the mouths of the players involved. It was bad enough that this happened between two big teams. They will not dig deeper. They're better off saying that Ozil got upset because Villa made a comment about Ozil's breath or something along those lines. In the end, only Villa and Ozil know what was said.

I'm not gonna go into discussion about what's right to say or not . The bottom line is, you are a pro player and as such you can expect all these sort of things ...reason why many teams have in house psychologists just so the players can confront these situations in the best possible way and not ruin their career or their team. Do I hear zidane ?
