Posted by Chaska on Aug-23-2011 18:14:

DC supposedly felt it hard, 5.5. I'm in Southern MA by RI and didn't feel a thing, was in the shower.

Posted by Scoops on Aug-23-2011 18:19:

i'm right by the beach and my whole building was shaking

I thought someone was joking around shaking the partitians on the cubes...but when i saw my lit rack shake, i knew something was up...

is it wierd i still feel a bit light-headed from it

Posted by SebG on Aug-23-2011 18:21:

Yup.

I was sitting at my desk and I feel the movement. This is my thought process:

o_0 I didn't drink alcohol during lunch, then Am I about to pass out, to Holy shit its an earthquake, GTFO of the office.

Posted by euphoria on Aug-23-2011 18:29:

I felt it and it kinda made me nauseous. I thought it was just me till others in the office started to comment. At that point I grabbed my shit and exited the office.

I just got back in now, they said it's safe. There may be some aftershocks tho. I will be taking the parkway home instead of the highway just in case.

Astoria must have been exempt, because I'm one of three people I've read reporting not to feel shit.

Posted by 72hrpartyanimal on Aug-23-2011 18:38:

hope everyone and everything is okay. Earthquakes are no joke.

Posted by Ali Mahmud on Aug-23-2011 18:41:

I felt it in stamford, ct. Some people in my job say they are feeling light headed, but I don't feel anything. It reminded me of when I was in lehman high school, and a truck will get stuck under the overpass and shake the whole building. The only thing this had more swaying to it.

Posted by Aspy on Aug-23-2011 18:49:

i thought it was my imagination. but it wasnt. I never heard EQ in new york

Posted by AY STAR on Aug-23-2011 18:54:

You were bouncing out of your seat?

I felt it in NJ, but it was very minor. Just a little swaying of my house. Felt a bit dizzy and disoriented for about 20 minutes after.

lol i was laughing it off while my co workers were loosing their marbles. but then again, i witnessed 7.9 for 43 seconds when i was like 10 followed by 100 other quakes back home. so i guess i'm used to this shit.

i was bouncing in my seat wondering if i had any jameson today..then thought wow that was weird and dipped straight for the elevators, soon to find massive amounts of people cramming into my elevator from the lower floors.

lolol @ AyStar Thanks bro

I didnt feel a thing, I must have been farting while it happened. I was in the basement at my job. When I went upstairs, one of my co-workers asked if I felt the quake and I was like huh? I walked outside and there was people scattering around like roaches when you turn on the light in the kitchen at 4am on a weekday to grab a glass of water.

Posted by Excess on Aug-23-2011 23:15:

slept through it here in nj. neighbor came by asking if we felt anything. thought he was making shit up

Posted by Dreyth on Aug-23-2011 23:16:

I'm in the 80's on the east side of manhattan and didn't feel a single thing. I found out from facebook. Maybe it's cuz I'm on the 2nd floor?
