Question What about your accent?

quote:
Let's face it: native speakers or not, we all have different accents in English (specially non-native users, since we mix up american and british english). Anyway, what does your accent in English sound like?

My pronounce is the standard British accent, but...

1) "bed" and "bad" often sounds the same (Most Brazilian teachers talk this way)
2) "th" rarely becomes "f" or "v" (I fink vere's somefing wrong wiv me, hehe - it's normal to do it here though)
3) "because" often sounds like the American way (the "au" becomes "uh")
4) And I almost always pronounce all the letters in the word "used" (sounds like "you zed" - once again, teachers' fault )
5) I often say ",eh?", eh? I'd rather say "nay" instead (it would be just like my native lang) but I guess it would sound too weird, nay?

no
the aussies bend their words, a good example of a aussie accent would be steve irwins [sp?]
that alligator n snark man
'crikey! thatsa biggune!'

british is ponce
'hello dear boy, i'll take my tea on the tray'
'and he said mushroom, har har haar har har'

hehe, nice examples. thanks I've got a doubt about British slangs:
To nick - to steal (?)
Tart - B*tch (?)
Mate - friend or everybody you know (I always hear: Hi mate! Cheers mate! Me and my mates...)
Mint - !?

Any others?

im from the midwest of United States, in Indiana. people here usually talk really fast, but its kinda hard to notice any kinda of accent. usually i saw my "o's" like "augh", but nothing too out of the ordinary. its kinda hard to describe

my accent is a pretty broad derbyshire (area of UK) accent)

when i first met spad (who is a southerner) he could hardly understand what i was sayin!

demonstration:

"hello dear, im just going to the shop, ill be back soon!"

turns into

"Ayup mi duk, am just nippin t'shop, i waynt be long"
