Question Does iphone have long startup time?!

Hi,

I'm one of those few peope i suppose who doesnt have an iphone yet.. however is it true that it can take like a minute to simply startup the iphone to make a call?

Maybe it has to do in which mode you put it?

Would like to know this cause i am used to tradional gsm's which work instantly.

Mike.

My Android phone takes about a minute to boot up, including the SIM unlocking code part. An iPhone is probably similar, but I couldn't say for sure, having never owned one.

Seriously though, if you don't let your battery run down to fully empty all the time, how often are you really going to be inconvenienced by this?

so basically its best to leave it on.. in which mode do you set if you put it in your pocket and don't want to push (virtual onscreen) buttons by accident?

does the iphone have different modes of standby perhaps?

The mode is called "Lock"....welcome to the 21st century.

I restarted my phone so rarely that I forgot my sim card code.

Phase 1 - Jailbreak iphone
Phase 2 - Remove unwanted processes/daemons
Phase 3 - ???
Phase 4 - Profit (and a faster phone)

Takes like 30 seconds or some shit. I've maybe turned it off twice in the 8 months I've had it. Why this would concern anyone is beyond me...

I try and get a reboot in every once in a while but other than that, it's on 24/7...

The "modes" are either phone turned on or turned off. While it is turned on, you can lock the screen (for when you put it in your pocket), or you can put it in silent mode or airplane mode.

While it is turned on, it doesn't take any longer than any other phone (that I know of) to "start up" so you can make a call or play a game etc. When it's turned off, it takes a litte longer, a minute maybe, but why turn it off?
