Officially abandoning Oakey
I've been a number one fan of Oakenfold for a long time but wats up with this guy. His sets this year and last are boring number one same shit and some jus weird. So i must officially resign as oakeys number one fan. Cna someone post and tell me about a good mix this guy has done this year to keep my faith alive if not then i must award my allegiance to one of a dj. Armin Van Fucking Buuren. While late i finally got my hands on transparance. OMG this mix is undoubedly one of the best ever and his radio shows off ID&T are great as a matter of fact looking for episode 58 with special guest Ferry Corsten if neone can help me find it or give some info on where or simply send it to me it would be greatly appreciated thanx!!!
Man did u listened to his sets at Dance Department and goskitchen global gathering, these are brilliant.
heard his new track with that rock guy?? its almost hiphop man!!! awfull
Apparently his Turnmills set in the UK was fucking brilliant! I heard heaps of people saying it was the greatest set they've ever heard ant aht Oakey was back in town. Sad that this mix was not recoreded. I would have really loved to hear it. He can still tear the place up!

Leama - Melodica (Leama's Space Mix) (Platipus)
Aria - Green Eyes

Madonna - Impressive Instant (Deep Dish Remix) (Maverick)
How do you "abandon" an artist?
He's not yours to begin with... either you like him or you don't - it's none of our business.
heres wat i mean as far as abandoning i mean no longer sticking up for him my friend also fellow TA (splakaviet) is always raggin on oakey and of course im always sticking up for him and usually thas an easy argue meant jus mention 98 - 00' and oakey has won automatically. Do i knoe oakey prolly doesnt give two flying rats ass about me but hey in my world he rules everything but religion and i as a people became frustrated with our leader and decided to turn tail and run but if this set is gonna sound how i think i sound then maybe i shall return to the kingdom i for so long called home a kingdom i like to call oakenfoldia, i mean look at my signature for god sakes
In all else remeber that the letter P rules the world
(Paul Okenfold & Paul Van Dyk)
why do you people insist on listening to the "big 5" djs: pvd, avb, oaky, tiesto and fc?? (other than the fact that they record and put out every minute of music they spin)
there are so many great dj's out there!!!
dont be afraid to abandon your boring dj.

Godskitchen set is AWESOME..
Oakey Bashing is a popular thing in the last two years, after the big trance backlash in the media around the start of 2000 especially as a lot of tunes charted here in Europe, admittingly a lot of the ATB type stuff was cheese but the good quality underground trance that Oakey and PVD played and still do play unfortunatly got tarred with the same brush
Good on you for sticking up for him with your mates, it is always good to stick up for artists who have made the dance/trance scene what it is today, to people who are not really into trance music.
Times change and trance is all the time evolving Oakey has been at the forefront of the dance scene since 1988 and has adapted and he will again.
He is still a great ambassador for the Trance scene that we all love
Just my opinion
Later
Turbotrance
Amen!!!

I aint digging his new sounds that much compared to his stuff back in 2000/ 2001 thats for sure but i still respect him as a artist and he is making it big so hey why not keep doing it??
right now my favs are pvd/ armin/ ferry as far as this year goes for trance !
Yah, welcome to the "I hate the new Oakenfold Fan Club". Im still waiting for my Oakenfold Dart Board I ordered from the club so I can throw darts at Oakey's face.

Yeah... Oakie use to be the shit. Now he just is shit... Poor guy, he thinks he's good still... LoL... He kills trance. Armin is cool though. Tiesto and Ferry too... I'm starting to get into Prog now, it sounds phat. James Holden rocks my world...

| Originally posted by Verona^My not totally true, a voyage into trance is good. Haven't listened to much of his other sets, but that one I like. Judging from what I'm hearing, he sold out and went into hip-hop. |
