Man With No Name Essential Mix from 1998

Sorry if been posted before.
Classic Essential Mix from Martin Freeland at his best. He's playing a live set of his classics from the 90's at the next Cream Reunion in Liverpool on 26th Nov.

Yeah this was posted a while back, I've listened to it like 30 times since then. I wish we had more like this.

This is actually brilliant.

Any other TAs going to the next Cream Reunion? MWNN is playing, along with Tilt live and Quivver. I had to miss the last one, but I'll walk through brick walls to make it this time.

If I've managed to sell my flat by the 28th of November I'm going.

Posted by BeatsAndBeyond on Sep-01-2011 10:02:

I'm considering making the journey for this one. Still got a while to wait yet though.

Now this is a quality set.

It's a Saturday in November. There'll always be a game on.

03. Michael Kohlbecker - Cadillac (08:24)

Does ANYONE know where to get this from? According to all the tracklists, it was released on Qube, but I cant find it anywhere. I asked Michael about it, he said it got a very limited release on BMG in Germany, but there is absolutely no information about it anywhere, nor have I ever seen it for sale. Its also not on Discogs.

Does anyone have information at all?

Chris, I'm going to have to take issue with your sig. It's been bugging me for a few weeks, ever since the following scenario took place:

In a club, dancing. Ridiculously attractive girl comes up and starts dancing with me.
Me: Hi, I'm Jack.
Her: I'm [name since forgotten].
*Transition*
Me: Oh shit. What is this track?
Her: *Shrug*
Me: Oh shit, I should know this. It's definitely a classic.
I go over to the DJ.
Me: What is this tune, mate?
Him: It's Open Our Eyes by Insigma.
Me: I used to fucking love this track!
Him: Yeah, it's a great track!
I turn around. The girl has abandoned me.
Me: FUUUUUUU...

So yeah. Successful track IDs aren't always what they're cracked up to be.

Whats worse is that since I'm barely ever on this site anymore, every link in that thread is dead Hopefully the same doesnt happen to the ole sex life.

Liverpool v Man City on the Sunday. There's also a world netball competition on at the Echo Arena that sat, if fancy day perving. Terrible sport though.

Haha! Am I said DJ? Seem to remember you asking me about that track. If so I apologise.

Posted by Redd on Sep-01-2011 20:20:

the secret is to be able to ID it on the spot, then you get the girl for impressing her with your awesome knowledge of tunes.

or do you.

I'll probably catch a flight to Manchester and then a train to Liverpool.

Yes actually, it was at Future Forward. Very appropriate that I should bring it up in this thread. And no need to apologise - it was my own immensely stupid fault for deciding to show more interest in the music than the girl. Come to think of it, I have previous with this. I remember a girl trying to dance with me at a retro night, but I was too busy going mental at the fact the DJ was playing Bedrock - For What You Dream Of to pay her any attention.

I've got absolutely no chance of pulling at the Cream Reunion, obviously.

Can someone fly me out there so I can finally hear some proper oldschool shit in a club?

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Sep-02-2011 05:33:

Can you not afford a plane ticket? It's expensive if you think of it as a night out, but think of it as a trip in another country. I'm flying to New York next week, and I'm genuinely more excited about going to Liverpool for this night than that trip.
