Amnesia Miami

So does anyone know anything about this new club opening in October? Apparently it's gonna be sick from all the little news reports I've read online. They are catering more to the dance crowd than the VIP's from what I have seen. DJ Bob Sinclar is going to be a resident as well as part owner. Anyone else with any news on it and its development so far?

i hope they bring some decent talent.

A few little news clips I found online about it. It seems like this is a satellite club of the original Amnesia in Ibiza. So with that assumption they should pull in some nice talent.

anyone hear anything else about this club? saw a few events posted on wantickets but havent heard buzz about it recently. from those articles posted, it sounds promising

as soon as they bring someone worth seeing i'll try to make it over there. sounds like it could be huge as long as they invest in some talent.

I think so.

In the late 90's Amnesia was THE club in Miami second to the Shadow Lounge. It was a space that was indoor and outdoor. Incredible space, south of 5th on Collins.

I'm going to the Defected Residency launch party on the 29th. I'll be sure to take pics and upload some videos! Pretty psyched about the show and this venue...can't wait!

Went last night. Fantastic crowd probably owing to it being opening weekend. Very little trash. Tons of euros. Light setup and LED screen are incredible. The setup with tiered places to sit right beyond the dance floor is great

But fucking tile floors, are they serious? My only complaint

Music was eh

i heard there was some issue at the door from a buddy but didnt get all the details. apparently they were telling people to call wantickets and get refunds because they werent letting anyone else in. obviously you got in but you experience any other bs?

Ya there's a horror story posted on the TNL forum. So I guess this means my black Adidas kicks are off limits...fuck.

thanks! that was a good read.

like ive said before, i wont make the effort to head over there (especially with these problems) unless they book some talent worth seeing.

honestly, i do not think I have EVER seen a club come out and give cash in exchange for a presale so the patron walks away. Normally they say contact the ticket company

I expect stories of people not being let in with presales even though I do not think it is right

I just discovered that forum...pretty interesting to say the least. A lot of guys on that site are nightlife industry professionals. Kind of fascinating to get some inside scoop as to how those Miami clubs are run and how they book DJs.

Luckily I'm with a hot girl on Saturday so I SHOULD be able to get in...right? lol

Ya the door was ridiculous, but it's not something I haven't seen elsewhere. They just weren't letting in guys without girls even if they had tickets. But there's a distinction to be made here, I'm not saying this is right or proper, just how it is. Guys without girls WERE being let in it was just the ones who acted the right way. My friend and I each walked in separately after a few minutes of talking to a few different people. The guys who weren't being let in were the ones that were standing at the front rope, either complaining or standing there silent.

It should not be like this but it is, and I'm shocked that people didn't expect this going in. It's miami, on opening weekend. It sucks but just act like you belong and you get in, girls or not. I went in around 2 and by that time everyone was pretty much let in, even after seeing the doorman tell different groups of people "no more coming in".

Should doors be run like this? Of course not, but it's the way it is. You can do 1 of 2 things: bitch and complain and stand there at the front all night or just act cool(i hate how this sounds and comes off) and get in

If you can get to the front of the line you should be in pretty quick
