The story of Dutch top-DJ Marco V is that of most DJs who were forced to wait a long time before receiving any recognition. Marco Verkuylen started to spin records in 1981 (at the age of 14). Only three years later the pitch-control was introduced and now Marco had yet another tool at his disposal on the decks.
Although Marco was among the first to discover the joy of spinning, it took him a long time before he was able to make a living with his DJ skills. This was mainly because he resided in a small town in the country, far away from the spotlights and the big clubs. However, in 1996 he had a big break when he was asked to become the resident of the biggest club in Eindhoven. It was soon known that this man had every bit of talent necessary to propel him to the upper echelons of DJs in the country - as his residency night became the best Friday night out of all the big clubs in Holland.
Now that Marco had a stable residency he began to experiment with producing music - the catalyst in this reaction was Benjamin Bates. Marco and Benjamin began producing tracks together and it was through this artform that Marco was given the opportunity to have his talents acknowledged on the worldwide stage.
Marco has since performed at two of the biggest events in Holland: Innercity at the Amsterdam RAI and Sensation at the Amsterdam Arena. Having mixed and compiled the �Live At Innercity� compilation and produced �In Charge� and �Godd� the respective theme songs for Innercity 2000 and 2001, Marco V has reached cult status in his home country.
It was with the release of the V.ision series on ID&T in 2001, that Marco hit the big time. V.ision Phase 02, featuring �Indicator� and �Certainly�, broke Marco to the rest of the world and it was promptly snapped up by Tall Paul�s Duty Free label for a full release in the U.K. Marco is now subjected to an unrelenting worldwide demand for his DJ sets and remixes, having recently completed a remix one of the greatest trance tracks of all time: The Future Sound Of London�s "Papua Nu Guinea".
Winning performances in the UK at Godskitchen and Gatecrasher have helped to elevate Marco�s popularity and his releases are now awaited as eagerly as those of the world�s most celebrated producers and DJs.
Marco has the extreme talents and unique ability to lead the forefront of the tech trance movement; producing and spinning classy, hard edged dance music, set to stand the test of time. His style appeals to and compels followers of techno, trance and even hard house, transcending the politics and dogma that has polluted some sectors of the dance music scene.
Marco�s relentless hard work will culminated this year with the release of a double CD album titled Con:Fusion.

i checked Marco's site and TO isn't on the itinerary yet.. but he is gonna be at Glow in Washington the day after so i figure...

I'm kinda dumb for asking, but where exactly is Markham? Is it better of the mega city or what? Or is it outside Toronto?

mannn ... i'll pass on gielen, but i definitely wanna see marco ...i just hate that it's all the way out in markham cause you need to drive, and that means designated drivers ...shitty shitty shitty ...looks like someone's not gonna have as good a time as me hehe ...

just saw him yesterday at Aria here in Montreal. Guys, don't miss this! This guy is incredible and way underrated!
Malek is right. I drove from ottawa to see this. After seeing armin, pvd and tiesto this summer, nothing impressed me like Marco did. Do not miss this! He is a phenominal dj.
Marco is God , he's definitely THE NUMBER ONE in my list now , don't miss him guys i swear he will not disappoint you , he's the perfect DJ
