DJ Furniture

In some issue of Urb or Mixmag (July or June, i think), there was a page in the front with a small bit about some guy that designs dj furniture. There's a picture with him and a turntable desk that hangs from the ceiling. At the bottom of the small article is a website about the guy's work. If someone has this magazine, PLEASE help me find it!

this is making me want to build my own.....

Posted by I Cant Focus on Aug-22-2002 23:07:

It really isn't that bad to build a deckstand on your own - I built one myself (along with a friend) for about $100 including all the materials and about one full weekend to assemble it. I drew my inspiration from the Sefour deckstands, but couldn't justify spending over $500 on a table like that. The good thing about building your own is that you can build it to your own terms and get really creative with it. Granted, mine looks nothing like that one guy's table with the recessed areas, but I'm really happy with it.

I'll take some pix of mine and post them here later.

cinder blocks!

you all go spend $500 on a fancy DJ booth. i'd rather buy 60 records and be glad I dont have to move a big heavy DJ booth :P

Yeh...it makes sense to save money. I think I'm gonna go to Home Depot and pick up Cinderbloxks and an nice wooden plank. there you go thats my DJ booth. And to get creative, I'll decorate it with string lights :-)

the floating coffin is so bad ass!

if I had 600 bucks pocking at my ass, I would swoop it up! of course then I would have no place to put it... but still

I just think it'd be strange to use something that hangs like that. wouldn't it start swinging away from you as you twiddle with your mixer?

Posted by mantisnl on Aug-26-2002 15:30:

yeah.. and how would u "stream" ur cables 2 the ground? that wouldn`t look cool

Posted by Fresh on Aug-29-2002 13:17:

Anyone know any UK sites that sell this furnature?

Posted by Cyrax on Aug-29-2002 21:09:

Hell, I can make that myself ...

I'll stop by a friend of mine who's a carpenter, use the machinery and with one or two days work ... VOILA ... a nice DJ table ...

first worry 'bout getting dex tough ...

cheerz

http://www.shortyellowbuss.com/djtable.html# the DJs a rate good looking youth in the last 2 pictures!!!

Posted by Vizay on Aug-30-2002 13:22:

heh I'm gonna build myself a dj table this weekend

I'll post some pics when it's done

It's not gonna be as flashy as that table from the shortyellowbuss page but it might work as some sort of inspiration for all of the people that don't have time and money for that....consider it a cheaper one or something like that
