Posted by Sushipunk on Sep-09-2011 06:18:

The place should be a bit better without Anotherway83 and OrangestO around for a while, though.

This could be a good thread though. Let's use it for some decent analysis?

LET'S TALK ABOUT THE STATE OF THE COR

So, I've been COR mod since late January. How's that working out for you guys? Are there things that I do, or not do, that piss all y'all off?

Any [realistic] changes you would like to see? Ideas for the fun stuffs?

I ask because I think we all agree that things have been a little quiet around here lately. This is fairly normal during the northern hemisphere summer though, from what I've noticed.

Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your rears

Have your say now!

I think you were a mod longer then that, you just seem so authoritative all the time.
As for the changes, I think every COR post should be 140 characters or less, and should have a COR version of it.

I've been a mod in the DJ Promo forum since late 2009 (or early 2010, I can't remember). There wasn't really an active COR mod at that point though (Myra got busy, etc.), so the mods from other sub-forums were modding COR. To be honest though, it's not that different now - Heaps of the mods from other sub-forums still mod here. It's the COR way

You think I'm authoritative though? I'm kinda surprised to hear that. I thought a lot of people would say I don't moderate enough. What sort of ways do you mean? PM me about it if you want. With naked pics, of course.

Regarding the 140 characters thing though, let's not turn TA into Twitter. Twitter killed the internet star.

face it, there just isn't as much of a personal connection with all of the newer users nowadays. the old schoolers have typically moved on, and the new ones are kinda.. sparse. ta meetups and off-forum communication was more common back then imo. it doesn't feel like a cohesive group anymore, just like a bunch of randomness from random people.

20% off all posts in the COR! Post two posts, get one free! We will match any post from a competitive forum AND give you 10% of your post back!

Also, get some high profile users on here, like Jared Fogle 'The Subway Guy' and that should draw some renewed interest too.

AS YOU SHOULD BE

Stop people starting threads where they merely embed a youtube video and then sit back & wait. Less worth in posts means less discussion, less posts and then this happens.

Posted by prolikewhoa on Sep-09-2011 19:21:

it's a lot slower than i remember it, but i'll probably stay around. it's nice to see so many of the same people are still here, honestly. although the TAs i've actually met in person don't really post anymore that i can see.

I guess you're kinda right there. The meet-up thing has always been a bit different for me anyway, since there are hardly any TAs around where I live. In fact, I've only ever met two TAs ever

I wonder how much the alt thing had an impact. Everyone got so paranoid, that when ever a new member signs up, everyone is immediately suspicious and starts hassling them

I thought that was par for the course in the Cor, whether they were an alt or not.
