Not to diss those guys, but man did they ever clear out This is London.

Also, the crowd wasn't what I was expecting...maybe it's the area...or maybe London needs to renovate or maybe everyone else was at TIFF parties...but wow...

Every time I go there, I do not like the crowd.

I am sure they played a great set, they are different to listen to compared to what is normally played in Toronto

Considering they play a deeper funkier house TiL is probably the worst venue for their type of sound. Need to put them in a much more intimate environment with a 25+ crowd and the place will be bonkers.

TMB is def ha their share of hit or miss sets....

i've seen countless times in NJ and NYC and there times were they boring as fuck and played the same redundent crap other times they neevr took their foot off the gas pedal and just killed it

Not sure of when the emptiness struck the club but TIL is usually packed with boozers that clear themselves out shortly after last call. And it's not that they suck so bad it's just they're the top 40 type that belong in a top 40 place. It's only when you compare them to a proper house crowd that they get shitty. Just one more reason to be glad that we're on this side of the fence not theirs...

Scoops is bang on too, from what I've seen/heard those guys are either fire red hot or ice cold and unfortunately this sounds like the latter.

The Martinez Brothers didn't look like they brought anyone out, it was the regular London crowd and they weren't feeling the music. You can probably count on one hand the number of people that want to hear them play tech house, and that's what they were playing instead of deep or vocal house.

It was busy but people weren't feeling the music.

As for the venue, it's really hard when you are an upscale club and the neighbourhood turns to shit around you. Richmond Street is a warzone, and if you are trying to attract an upscale crowd, it makes it that much harder to get people out to that area.

You have to give them credit for still booking talent each week and when they renovated upstairs, it had a positive effect on their numbers. But it's not like they can just move the club to another spot, they have to deal with the decay of the area around them.

Me and some friends decided to go and pick up a table last second....
Truly i was really hoping to end up at the Megan Fox's movie after party, but ended up at TiL instead......
The club was at 50% capacity, which to me is shit.... i like it a bit more busy....
I wasn't really paying attention too much to the martinez bro's... but they did play a few banging tracks i got real into....
I feel because the club wasn't busy, they didnt put alot of effort into there set, which sucks....
i still had a good time.... but was expecting a busier nyte because Tiff is hhappening....
2 years ago TiL was a hott spot for Tiff....
it looks like this year ink is promoting there other venues for Tiff parties....
but i still had a good nyte out. pierod
