Creative Commons Goa/Psy mix (free download on soundcloud)
Hi,
I'm new to posting on this forum, but I've been lurking for a while. I figure it's time to contribute something, so here's a Goa/Psy mix I made using music from some musicians that offer their music under a CC license.
I'm first and foremost a musician (not a DJ) but if any DJs want to chime in on their thoughts, I'd be all ears.
Here's the link:
http://soundcloud.com/sukhavati/goa...of-mind-various
and here's the tracklist (146bpm):
Killer Buds - Our Reality
Sky Technology - Cosmic Space
PharaOm - Awakening Bodhisattva
Felix - Goa Sunshine
Erofex - The Right Choice
Persistent Aura - Greco-Mayan Civilisation
Silly Twit - Action These Days
Tsabeat - Like Summer Breeze
Nova Fractal - Perplexed
Mindsphere - To Infinity (2010 Remix)
BlackStarrFinale - Is Pause No
Enjoy!

Just clicked through the mix really quick, and I have two pointers:
1. Please upload a 320kbps mp3 next time instead of WAV. People can't tell the difference and the space saved is totally worth it.
2. You play goa then night full-on then goa then night full-on, and you repeat this over and over until the mix is finished. That isn't very cohesive. Even though the tracks are cool, I would recommend piecing together tracks that sound more similar than in the order you put them in this mix, because the two styles are completely different.
Nice try though, listen to a few of the other psytrance mixes posted around here (or in my set archive) for inspiration

BTW - If you can suggest some way to tell the difference between subgenres I'd be up for listening to it. Because honestly, the differences to my ear are only slightly different. With the exception of stuff like Morning or more of the classic sounding Goa, twilight and darkpsy, where it's obvious, most differences beyond that seem minimal at best to me.
Need some sort of Iskhurs guide devoted to Psy.
