Wow so nobody else is going to this?
Does anybody listen to Farina anymore? Is there something I am missing?

so jealous of you TO folks ... Mark Farina is worth calling in sick at work for IMO, but I have no idea if this is a cool venue or if it will be full of snobby film people! lol
Either way, enjoy the smooth, deep, funky house!!
Interested in checking out the venue but it has to be a "do it now or never" type event to get me out on a Wednesday. Farina is good beans but comes a few times a year so I can always catch him next time...
If I had known in advance I'd go. Still itching to pop my Farina cherry.
I'm a little scared of the TIFF crowd. I already hate King Street during all this shit...and I'm probably go by myself tonight, if I make it at all. As with others, work is slowly trying to strangle me.

wouldn't miss it if it was the weekend, midweeks are a no go for me at the moment.
I just found out about this tonight!!
Seriously considering going, yes because of Farina, but mainly to check out the venue, and what better excuse than to go for Farina
Still debating, but I wouldn't rule it out just yet. I might pop in Bobby.
I have to bail on account of work!
Stilez, do not go on my accord!
Might go tonight solo after my show. Haven't been to the Hoxton nor seen Farina live either as well. Arrgh decisions.
Scored comp tickets and had a great time. It was my first time seeing Farina and he delivered. I had planned to see him on Canada Day at Sunnyside, but of course, that was around the time his wife suffered her stroke. Music was so groovy and I discovered a new way to boogie.
I left around 3am because it seemed like the right thing to do. The Hoxton was less than half full all night, which hindered the buzz slightly, but the music was awesome! The crowd seemed to have nothing to do with TIFF (mind you, I had seen a film earlier in the evening) and everything to do with house music.
How's the sound system there?

Haha just kidding. The layout is that of a concert hall. Long, but not too narrow, and the place can hold a fair number of people--much bigger than Footwork, for example. There is a long bar that lines the left wall and another smaller bar on the right where they also have a booth or two set up. DJ Booth/stage is raised and at the front with washrooms at the rear.
In terms of sound, the system was crisp and the levels were solid. I do need to acquire another good pair of ear plugs after having lost my last pair though.
Haha thanks, that's a lot better. Hope to check this place out soon. Sounds like it has potential!
