Foster The People - Torches (major crossover potential)

These guys are like MGMT but I think they are better. Most of this album is in the 120 to 135bpm range. The basslines are written as if these were house tracks. Sick album here front to back.

Yeah, love this album. As you say, great cross-over music that sounds very dance/electronic but a proper band/live act at the same time.

I'm going to see them in November too

Yeah it's been going well over here in NZ.
Something creepy about that 'Pumped up kicks' tune, wanting to go shoot all the kids in such a happy tone.

i really like the idea, but their stage presence needs some adjustment. they need to tone down the enthusiasm. the lyrics are cheesy. that song almost sounds like a crustier version of van halen's "jump"

wow, jump? really? never would've related them at all.

maybe you need to listen to their whole album. also, don't expect deep, sophisticated lyrics from borderline dance music.

i guess you need to listen to cradle of filth, sounds more like you.

yea, i was just commenting on that one video posted. but seriously though, their stage presence, they look way too excited about nothing up there.

edit: van halen jump is almost in the same key as this foster the people song. you could almost do a mashup like this:

Think you could easily do it with a track like this. To me it should be a little more cross-over to call it that way, but that's just my personal opinion:
