...going there for 4 days and have limited time to research. Outside of the obvious Touristy things please list some cool places

gino's east/west for deepdish pizza bring a marker! have a polish hotdog

hit the loop, mag mile, or any of the parks - rucker, millenium, lincoln, but i've been warned to steer clear of humboldt park lol

Frontera Grill for good mexican on Clarke.
Boni Vinos in the loop for decent italian.
Chicago Chop House for some pricey steaks.
Riva on Navy Pier for some awesome sea food & nice view.
If you want to try the best hot dog ever head to Jean & Judes in River Grove.

Original Pancake House (Rush & Walnut) - Best breakfast in the city, but expect a line if you going mid-morning on a weekend.
Five Faces (Division, between Clark and Dearborn) - Best Gyros in the city. Tiny, gross-looking hole-in-the-wall, but it doesn't get any better.
N9NE Steakhouse - Cool spot in the south loop that, for some bizarre reason, doesn't get much traffic, aside from after-work crowd. Good food (New American stuff...not really a steakhouse) and pretty cool interior.
Navy Pier - Avoid. Chicago's Times Square.

AGREED! I had one of the most delicious brunches here I just wasn't positive on the name.

lol glenview. gino's east is the first thing that comes to mind when i think of touristy restaurants to check out. the original chicago style deep dish pizza, or whatever. the art museum is pretty fantastic as well.

vision is more up your alley, i think, but spybar tends to do a lot more popular tech-y shows that seems to be all the rage nowadays in edm-land.

Yeah, the Art Museum is great. I'm not always a big 'museum person', but I love that one. Some true classics there and a good variety.

If renting a car just do it from the avis downtown. The airport will rip your ass off. The Subway/rail system will bring you right to the stop where the car rental is.

Last but not least take a side trip to Miluakee and visit the Miller beer factory. Free samples but not all you can drink! and they have this great art museum as well.

More of a small museum guy? Nice. More personal with the art and displays, imo. I just don't like that the bathrooms are cramped.
