Proposal: Community sanctioned IRC channel.

TA members and emeritus:

I propose we start an IRC channel up(yes I did try searching using the button up there ---^)

What this will help accomplish:
Endless threads about "random talking on ta V xyz.abc"

Server recommendation: http://globalgamers.net/
Server mission statement: Global Gamers is an IRC network that was formed on one simple concept: gaming should be fun! Whether you live for annihilating the competition in a free-for-all FPS or you sneak in a game of Solitaire when your friends aren't watching, we understand. We know games are there to be enjoyed, and we don't want to complicate something that's supposed to be a source of entertainment...

To sample what the GG community is like: click the "Chat now" button in the menu.

I know many of you arent gamers, but its a good way to get chatting done.

I use Skype group chats for about a dozen different things, and they are really nice because the conversations are logged even when you are signed off.

i remember chatting on IRC with Johan Gielen back in the day when we had the IRC channel

now that i think about it, maybe it was just swamper playing games with us all along :P
