In Search Of Sunrise 8 and 9

Why did Tiesto decide not to mix these two? Sure Richard Durand is good and all, but it takes the kick out of it dont you guys think?

If I remember correctly he left it due to taking flight (643) upon the uplifting wings on course with a new career path. Defining a new era. Kaleidoscope, really.

No more BLACKHOLING

Didn't he just quit after this?

Posted by JFernie on Sep-24-2011 16:36:

Tiesto parted ways with Blackhole selling his share to Arny I believe to form his own Musical Freedom label.

Although he seems to still be releasing his Allure stuff with them

Still cannot beat the early ISOS's I think 3 is my fav

Yup... Tiesto left BH

ISOS is released on Songbird, not Blackhole. amiright? Regardless, I think Durand's been doing well with ISOS. #9 is pretty sweet.

Meh did you start listening to trance when Deadmau5 got his first career hit?

A bird called Tiesto propped with so much E he thought winter it's the mating season and the resulted eggs that hatched was just plain shit!

8 is pretty good. I didn't really get into 9. It has some good tracks, but overall it's too tech-trancey for what's supposed to be a more laid back series.

Posted by vsherry on Sep-26-2011 05:53:

I love both, but I definitely prefer 8 to 9.

i didnt like 4,5,6 when they came out, but when listening back to them now, i think they`re all pretty nice actually, and would prefer it if he continued the series.

I didn't give the last Tiesto ones enough credit either. I now like Los Angeles and Asia.

I really liked LA a lot. not so much the 2nd CD, but the 1st one. Definitely one of my fav of the series.

Also, I was unaware that black hole owned songbird. I thought Songbird has only released ISOS albums?

Nope! Black Hole/Avanit/Songbird/In Trance We Trust/and some others are all part of Black Hole Recordings. Songbird releases the more "chill" stuff...

interesting. i've never been really fixated on labels; but have noticed the difference (ex: armada vs black hole...i.e. armin vs tiesto).

I like 8 a lot, thought he did a great job on it. 9 havent really listened to too much.
Out of the Tiesto ones.. I love 7 Asia, Ibiza is pretty good but I think probably the most overrated. Panama is good too.

Posted by AY STAR on Sep-28-2011 15:40:

was not a fan of the ibiza one
felt it was too rushed imo
cd 2 on number 7 is fuckin solid totally different than any other isos shit is peak hour stuff ha ha ha

but for me personally isos 3 is the one cd i can still put in and listen to from start to finish

Yeah, ISOS 1-3 are absolute classics (3 being perhaps my favorite trance mix ever). 4-7 most definitely have their moments, but I think Tiesto could have cut the fat a bit on them... (making them 2CD didn't help - I thought disk 1 of 4 and disk 2 of 5 were mostly mediocre).

Posted by Rodri Santos on Sep-28-2011 17:46:

i find that magik series were a lot more diverse but isos 2 & 3 are the best

Yeah they all could be reduced down to just 1 CD.
