Recommending : Ableton Multiband Compression

This so simple so easy yet powerful tool is a must
- Softening aggressive sounds
- Stressing part of the sound while suppressing other parts
- Getting that riff out in the open and eliminating frequency competitions

You can change your track to the better or worse, be careful and learn this tool well.

Its actually one of things in Live 8 ive never tried out, i must play around with it some day

It's much more transparent than using the regular compressor.
