Jobs/Careers

What do you do? Do you like your job? Does it make you want to rip your eyes out? If you could do something else, what would it be?

Don't wait for us to respond. Go ahead and tell us what you do.

I'm a programmer for Coca Cola Enterprises. I work with the Data Integration team to process data and write code to perform various tasks for various document types on certain servers. The code is highly logic-based, and not like your average programming language. I really like it, but I kinda miss actually typing out the code. We use software called Webmethods Flow that is GUI based and more point-and-click based than writing classes and functions and stuff.

Should've done a search. Plenty of threads on the topic already. But to answer your question, I have an awesome job. Challenging, rewarding, good money, lots of time off and opportunity for growth. I never get up in the morning and think "Ugh, gotta go to work! " I think "I have to get up and go do cool shit that I will get paid for!" If I could do anything else I guess it would be to pursue art, what I initially planned to do with my life. Ideally I wouldn't work at all. Lulz.

I wake up and decide whether or not I want to put on pants and go to the office or just work from home in my robe on my recliner.

I am a Business Intelligence Consultant. I design and maintain reports and dashboards based on tons of corporate data so the higher management can make better strategic decisions.

It is both challenging, satisfying and rewarding.

you're ridiculous. i did a search from the past year, nothing came up. over 2 years old, people have probably changed jobs.

your job sounds great. are you a nurse? my whole family works in healthcare in one way or another but for whatever reason i didn't go that way.

Oh, and ideally, I think I might like to be a mathematician. Problem is I am not smart enough to do that.

Poor JBJ just can't catch a break.

Posted by Vector A on Oct-05-2011 16:09:

LOL! Not really, I have a pretty good life.

At the moment I'm doing contract work for a law firm's antitrust practice. It's pretty boring, since the most undesirable tasks are the ones that tend to trickle down to contract attorneys, but the pay is decent, and it fills the gap on my resume while I wait for my position on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit to begin next year.

If I could do something else, I'd really like to be a regional warlord.

I'm actually trying to decide if I want to leave work early and go home and remote in for the rest of the day. Let's see what Ed the Corgi would do:

Fledz is a drug dealer. Not the good kind that sells you E and coke to make your parties even better, but the bad sleazy not to be trasted kind that wears a suit and a shit eating grin. Thats why we make fun of him all the time.

Sorry, but your kitchen really was ugly. It looked like someone shit all over the walls. I would know obviously because I shit all over my walls.
