How often would you say you talk to yourself?

I do quite a bit, apparently. I don't really notice that I'm doing it, but friends/fiancee have informed me that I do. Not like full-on conversations with myself or anything, but I tend to wonder a lot of things out loud, and stuff like that.

You guys?

I go over shit i am going to do outloud with myself.

For instance: Ill be sitting watching tv and be like "ok, i wont eat anything now so i can go run later... or else i am going to be full and wont be able to run much - fucking cramps"

id say shit like that out loud to myself.

Yeah, I do that type of thing. And to remind myself to do stuff as well. "Fuck, don't forget to put the bins out tonight".

Schizo, imo.

Hmm, I might have a word or two with myself if I swore at me.

Nou talks dirty to himself in Japanese while fapping.

I do it when I drive, almost incessantly.

Sometimes I roll down the window and just speak louder. It works.

Posted by LAdazeNYnights on Oct-11-2011 01:55:

mostly just when i'm out..shopping, for instance.

i was just in whole foods. i found myself staring at this wall full of medium sized packets of different grains and idk what else. i muttered "i'm in the fuckin' bird food aisle" and some lady glared at me.

i talk to myself when i have a negative thought or i'm embarrassed about something. or when i forget something.

My inner monologue consists of mostly Chris Rock's voice talking in my head. I don't speak to myself out loud because Chris Rock's hilarious voice makes situations funny. My voice isn't that funny so I deffer to mr.rock's voice.

I do it off and on. Sometimes I'll be having a conversation in my head and realize I just spoke one line of it out loud. I manage to not do it when others are around, but I'm sure it'd look pretty funny if someone caught me.

I guess I do it when I'm frustrated or fired up about something more often.

I tend to just start sentences and finish them in my head, usually only verbalizing the responses to self-posed questions.

For examples: "I wonder......... no...... hmmmmm.... maybe this.... damn it.... no.... no... hrmmm... argh! Fuck.... Oh. I'm dumb."

Posted by Meat187 on Oct-11-2011 06:55:

Never.
But I do talk to things (my computer when it doesn't work) and yell at people on TV or the internet. Like saying "oh crap, that faggot again?!" when Sushipunk posts.

Yeah, apparently that's the most common way that I talk to myself

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Oct-11-2011 07:28:

Generally only when I'm annoyed. Will just be an outburst of "Fuck's sake!" or, as Meat says, angrily berating pieces of technology. I do have a habit of having heated external monologues with myself when I'm walking home drunk, though. If someone overheard me they'd probably think I was a lunatic.

I wonder if Nou can cook up a script that makes your avatar appear to me as Black Adder, permanently.

It's not that I don't like the cat, it's just that Black Adder works perfectly, for nearly everything you post

I tend to talk to the dog. If we're out and she tries to pull towards someone walking past, I tell her that not everyone wants to play with her for example. She is a pretty good responder too, she knows that "park your arse" means to sit for one.

No no no, talking to animals doesn't count at all. Everyone does that

Talking to yourself, Ian.

Posted by Ian on Oct-11-2011 07:59:

all of the time. mostly just self motivating things. Or to Tim Hortons workers, they really don't understand english.

Posted by aquila on Oct-11-2011 08:09:

All the time. I am totally fucking insane. I also like to play with my hair for no reason at all.

Posted by Acton on Oct-11-2011 10:34:

I occasionally talk aloud in work, when I'm working through tough calculations or something.... but I believe it's mostly a concious decision, as I find it helps the process.

Posted by ChemEnhanced on Oct-11-2011 12:28:

Several times a day, someone has to keep the voices in check.

Posted by rdevito on Oct-11-2011 13:03:

Only when i'm trying to solve some kind of logical problem, when i need to think a lot. Example:
"If i do this, than that is going to happen, but holy shit something is wrong here"
