Portable DVD players linked to your mixer

Anyone here got a dvd player linked up to your mixer , etc

Been meaning to do this for ages well for me it opens endless options of including film samples direct from the film into the mix .

I djed at a house part once where there was a portable DVD player floating around but I never got a chance to hook it up to the mixer cos stu kept stealing it to watch porn in the corner

I'm fairly sure Radley was trying to watch porn in the corner, I was trying to project it onto the wall.

If you just use a normal portable DVD player you'd probably spend a lot of time trying to fast forward/rewind to the right bit, then dropping it in isn't exactly going to be convenient. What you want is a DVJ.

Busted.

Be careful what you put on Facebook Stu, it can (and will) come back to bite you in the arse.

P.S. That was a bloody good party.

Of course it's suitable for that kind of action too.

Do you happen to know if there is anything cheaper than Pioneer in the market?

They're the only hardware units I know about, but there are a number of DJ software packages which support video now - Serato Video SL for instance.

There's also the DVJ-X1 which was the predecessor to the DVJ-1000, which you might be able to get a bit cheaper 2nd hand.
