Running a Mac with logic 9 CPU Burnout?
my mac is an 07 macbook pro 2.4ghz 4gig memory OSX 10.6.7
with logic 9 I am being told can not handle logic with a warning message. I dont think I am using an excessive amount of tracks and so on. Is this just a performance based thing?
Thank you kindly
Any multiple output or buzzed instrument will only use 1 core. Huge bug that was ever addressed.
you should be able to go a long way with that machine before you start running into problems, check your buffer settings and all that
guys you aren't listening
you can cripple the most modern 12 core mac with 1 instance of battery with multiple outs and effects on each channel. The way logic handles core sharing is awful. The second you start sending an instrument to any bus or aux, anything in that chain will now be processed by just 1 core.
The only work around is not to use multi out instruments. Kinda hard with drum samplers.

Thanks guys, you make me wanna hug you!
I have been running a few tracks, prob around 20/25 max, which I would say there are around 50/50 to audio and instrument. And, yes I get that CoreAudio message in logic!
I just re-read my initial post im glad you got what i meant, too much parsley that night.
I shall do what you peoples have advised and report back asap!
appreciate it
something about audio files
if you bounce an audio file, even if the audio is silent, it has the same information has audio that isn't silent. There is a function that will strip the silence from files. Then resave the audio. This can really help out on the hardrive end.
