Psychedelicesque sub genre needing identifying

Hello!

I am looking for some help about a certain type of trance music. I heard it in Morocco in the year 2000, at new year's eve, at this amazing psychedlic festival in the sahara. Deep into one of the nights, someone was djing some fantastic trance music and I'd like to know where I can get some. It wasn't epic or anthem based at all, more the opposite, steady, flowing, hypnotic, subtle, without any build ups. Kind of like jeff millsesque detroit techno is compared to techno that has breaks and build ups.

If anyone can help with some description/labels/artists etc it would be greatfully appreciated!

There's no such thing as progressive psy.

Everything psychadelic in electronic music like todays psy-trance sounds shit. I rather prefer psychadelic rock.

are you for real? are you talking about psychill and psybient too? and all the subgenres like goa/morning/night/forest/dark/prog/full-on/suomi?

if you just skim the genre, then sure, there's alot of bullshit. true of most things.

what about this:

and looking at Redd's, this too:

if you can stomach this stuff then you can find a huge scene out there dedicated to the sound.

Awesome response thanks chaps!

Redd it was kind of like that, more so on the rhythm, but more underground sounding, darker, deeper. This tune you post could have been they played at the end of the set(s) as the sun rose to bring out the true cosmic energy.

The only name I can remember was a group who played live on the star night, I had an intense experience walking into this crazy crowd where everything from the outide looked totally not kicking off but once in there all madness broke loose, in a good way of course. it was very carnivalesque. Anyway, this group called something like 'Starship Universe' were playing trance that had a beat melted down so much it was just turning into a bubblebath soup, totally weird! But that was different from the darker, more bassment feel of the trance I mentioned earlier.

I'm downloading those other recommendations and will give a whirl!
