I need some inspiration - reawaken my interest in trance, please!

Im an old timer and been listening to trance since the early / mid 90's, so please dont think Im dissing the scene out of some sense of spite. Im not someone who is always sayin it was better back in the day either. However, I really do need to hear some new, hypnotic trance or prog to re-energise my interest in the scene. Can you recommend any good djs or producers that fit the bill? By the way,

Im tired of fluffy Anjunabeats fodder.

I hate the Schulz-sque electro stab every 2 minutes garbage

I was never in to psy.

Please help! Or is that me and the scene done?

the track is only 2 years old. im hoping someone will post something newer. (don't like progressive apart from older stuff, and psy doesn't cover it as a replacement for trance)

Timewave

I'm assuming uplifting Dutch trance isn't really your style, either, since you said you were looking for something "hypnotic".

Most of that style of trance has gotten slower and calls itself "progressive" now, but that's a bad name for it. It's more trance than most mainstream trance is, and isn't really like what is traditionally called "progressive".

Some examples:

Damn, when you said you want some hypnotic stuff I was already going to recommend some psy producers.

But like MSZ said some Mistique stuff is nice. Not going to fall for everything they pull out but some artists like Timewave, Suffused and Kay-D are good.

Also Relaunch.

His music is labeled as Prog House but sounds like Trance for me

Promoting my friend Lisaya, this oldtimer who also started listening trance early 90's lately totally got addicted to this remix Lisaya made for Kamil Esten on a small Dutch label called Club Nation (http://www.clubnation.nl/)

To me personal those synths and chords work very hypnotic:

Not sure if this is the sound you're after, but this is definitely one of the best tracks I've heard all year.

Magnus - Into The Light

Not all psytrance has that cookie cutter "psy" sound...

check out j00f's label. check out the digital blonde too. check out 00.db.

Trance that has gametes is what their sound is about.

Here's an obligatory video of a random good song i want you all to hear:

no fluff here

M.I.K.E - Ecstatic / No turning back

Purple Haze - Timezone

How is it possible that a HansUp/CT track from the year 2000 can give you "chills"...?

It's by Union Jack, what else could you expect?

On the topic, I like Juno Reactor. They may not be quite "classic", but they are still good. (no fluff there either)

1 of the very few DJ / producers I've got excited about over the last few years is Robert Vadney, give him a go. link to some of his radio shows here. completely with you re: the Anjunabeats fluff too, far too saccharine for my liking
