King UofT TA's

I'm an upcoming first-year student at the University of Toronto, Trinity College. Reading the other thread on Universities/Colleges, I figured it would be interesting to see how many TA's are at UofT alone.

And, while we're at it, a few questions!! First of all, frosh [week]. I am familiar with the concept but I am unaware of the details. Is there a different "frosh schedule" of events for each individual college, or is it split up by faculties, or what? Someone please enlighten me. The reason I ask is because I know that Trinity has its own "frosh week" so I was wondering where the other "frosh events" are.

Going to UofT means meeting new people for me as I won't know anyone there. I'd certainly like to get to know the TA's there for sure, so perhaps we could organize some frosh meetups or something. Just an idea, open to input. What do you think?

Yeah, each individual college has their own Frosh week schedule. There are some that are better than others.. I am in Woodsworth college, but St. Mike's frosh week is so much better.

Anyway, meetups sound good.

Cheers!

I'm @ New College, 3rd year now.. and I have to say that I barely know anyone there.. I know more people from other colleges than my own
I won't be @ frosh cause the film festival will keep me busy

Heh, you're a trinity frosh? I'm going into 4th year at Trinity! Are you living in residence?

Posted by Alccode on Aug-25-2002 02:09:

No, unfortunately I'm not in rez - I'm staying at home for at least the first year or two.

It's really cool to know that there are Trinity TA's! You're in residence?

its divided by faculty and then college. Engineers have their own frosh schedule, and then all the art sci's are divided by college.

Trinity LOL!, all I have to say is that you guys got egged hard wearing your robes during the frosh parade last year by NEW.

AND, we're the defending bed race champions! We were out there in full support, it was wicked, totally killed the engineers with our waterballoons. This one chick got really pissed HAHA

U of T engineer here, 2nd year... all I gotta say is that if you're a frosh artsci, you better watch your back -- engineers are known to be crazy

Ahem... it's called a "gown" not a robe you uneducated heathen!

Alccode - Yeah, I'm in residence, and you're welcome to stop by any time. I take it you're participating in frosh week?

Awesome - I'm still in the "woah" phase that there are tranceaddicts at Trinity lol!!

Uh about frosh week I just noticed that the deadline for registering was August 10, also: "If you live in Canada, we must receive your application by this date."

Woops! I guess I'm too late... ah well I'll see if I can pull off something, I think it would be great to meet some new people.

You don't need to register. Just bring your sleeping bag (or anything remotely close to it that you could sleep on) and crash at someone's room at the res. You'll see more people sleeping on the floors during frosh then ever.

You actually do need to register so they can fit you into a frosh group, and ensure there are spots for you during the events.

I know the organizers of the Trinity frosh week so I should be able to get you registered anyway. I'm sending you a PM with the e-mail address of the person to get in touch with.

Just finished my undergrad at U of T, hopefully will attend a Masters program in the near future at U of T as well. As for U of T (Erindale), we never had to worry about different frosh week schedules, the whole campus is like a big high school.

I graduated to UofT St George last June, with a HonBsc in Human Bio. I miss being on campus, even though I didnt really do much while I was there. The thing I miss the most though, is being a student. Working full time sucks ass. Im hoping to get back into school in January, but it wont be UofT.
