Steve Porter @ the hoxton (Friday Nov 4)

Saw this just pop up on fb.

I was wondering if he was still DJ touring. Im curious to see if his sound has changed. Im gigging that night so I wont be able to make it, unless it goes late.

This guy is a leviathan of a DJ, non stop energy.

Porterhouse is always good for mindlessly dancing your ass off. No subtleness there

HATE that I am missing this.
Hopefully he is getting back into DJing as a full time career again.

Long live porter house!

His Sullivan Room set from November 2008 was one of my favourite sets. - sorry I don't have a link.

No kidding. Art Department certainly have a place in my heart.. but slow nu-disco-deep-house cant hold a candle to Porterhouse if you wanna dance.

how was this?

Honestly it was so bad we left about 15 mins after he got on. What a club full of douche bags, he must have been asking himself what the hell he was doing there that night.
Guaranteed 90% had no idea who he was and warmup played melodic trance.
Ill never step foot in The Hoxton again.

Yeooouch.

Aww shit. That sucks. Need to drag him out to Footwork again sometime in the future.

I ended up there that night actually. I had no idea he was spinning so it was a very pleasant surprise. Oh also, John Michael Liles showed up there at around 1AM after the leafs got beat 0-7.

As for the set, it wasn't the greatest to be honest.

The Hoxton is not a place for good music. It's full of people who are only going to be entertained if they hear Sand Storm and Usher's "Yeah" a whole bunch of times. The $20 cover, $7 drinks full of mostly ice and prissy girls who are bitching about everything going on made for a waste of a night.

$20 cover is not too bad for Steve Porter though...I tried to get in at 1:15 and even then there was a massive line up so we gave up

Was wondering...we tried to get in around 12 or so but the line was enormous. Glad we moved on!
