Studio Monitor question
Is there a really a difference going from an 8inch woofer to a 10 inch
I have dynaudio bm12a and i'm going for the genelec 10 inch 1032A
about 2 inches or so
oh really? thats good to know, anything else?
Is this a troll thread? This seems like a troll thread.
i don't see how someone that responds to every other thread with "fuck you" help.
who cares, probably is. i went from 6.5 inch to a n 8 inch and there was a big difference
well try a 10 inch. Let us know how it feels. I personally think you should go with the guy that treats you nice but I have no experience in that department.
oh well I'm just so happy i have enough cash to get these monitors
its either a 2 way or the focal 3 way/2way
you should think about investing your money or something I don't think you need Genelecs
sryy i need to spend money, i'm bored

Get focals twins, or if money is seriously burning a fat hole in your pocket, then get the barefoots.
And man, you have to learn to read richie's posts properly before answering. I love the fact you genuinely responded to his advice about whether to get 2 way or 3 way'd.

saw your studio picture
A: you do not need 10 inch cones. Your in a corner of a room that seems like it would have to be small to put you in such a place.
I would get a proper desk
2 lcds
Proper stands for your current monitors
room treatment
and a different location if you can. Those speakers in a corner against the wall must saturate your room with bass.
B: don't sell anything in a recession. Buy. Your TI won't really lose value. So keep that. If you want that pro sound , chuckle, I have 2 UAD 2 quads with almost all the plugins. If you are ready to take that next step. I'm ready to take that money form your pocket book.
manual says there should be an equilateral triangle with the monitors, isn't that right? or its bollocks
that isn't the issue. You have massive speakers against a wall in the corner or what seems to be a corner. See this is what I don't get. You say you have all this money yet you have 0$ invested in your actual setup roomwise and furniture.

Ikea desk, actually it is an ikea table that costs like 120$. Lowered so that the monitors are at the right heigh. stands were less than 200$. Fill them with cement. Equilateral triangle. Speakers are a little over a foot from the wall.
alright that sounds fit, i'll invest an ikea desk
not really an investment. But it works. If you plan to be in the same area for a long time, I suppose it would make sense to spend more on a desk. YOu will have to really plan on what you have and where you will put it. I knew I had just a keyboard, so pretty much anything would work. I knew that I wanted the table to be lower than the keyboard and the ikea table works.
