Just moved To Los Angeles

Hi, I just moved here to Los Angeles from Miami. What are the best places here to have a good time and listen to some good minimal/ tech-house/house?

Any upcoming events that I should know of?

For the genres you listed, you should look into Incognito's parties, along with events by Culprit LA and Plastic Love.

There are also random events from time to time from promoters I'm not too familiar with. i.e. Christian Martin and Worthy are going to be at King King in Hollywood tomorrow night (the 18th). That one's being promoted by "The Do Lab".

Welcome to LA! I moved here from Atlanta about a year and a half ago, and I love it. The EDM scene here is HUGE.

Glad to hear the EDM scene here is huge. I was surprised though to find out they close at 2:00 am though.

What about places or clubs? Which ones do you recommend?

They stop serving booze at 2am, but many clubs stay open later.

Circus stays open until 4am.
King King stays open until 3am.
Music Box stays open until 4am, sometimes later.
Avalon stays open until 6am-8am, depending on the night.

Most of the "normal" clubs and bars close at 2am, but the EDM events tend to go later.

As far as favorite clubs, I'll let some of the tech/house guys comment on that one. I spend most of my time at Circus, but it's exclusively trance and progressive, so that doesn't help you much.

for really sick underground techno parties, if they start throwing them again check out Hearharmonic and the Super freq parties are always fun too, adultnapper and mr. c tonight.
we are very fortunate here in LA, we have so many dj's coming through and the scene is very solid for the most part.
i was born in miami and seem to go back about once a year, love it down there

Because of the License permits.
But they differ from South Beach to Downtown Miam. South Beach closes down at 5AM.. Downtown MIA can go all day all night ( Space ) only area that gives that permit in South FL that I'm aware of.

Hi guys, I forgot to check back on this thread. Thank you so much for all the suggestions and glad to hear the EDM here is alive and well. I do miss Miami sometimes though haha but I can't complaint. I have to check out all of the places mentioned here ASAP.
