What do you think about Ferry Corsten?

Title describes it all

Posted by Redd on Nov-18-2011 10:50:

Most people here know him as the guy who killed trance.

Posted by JH_Trance on Nov-18-2011 11:41:

Haha allright, that doesn't sound too positive then. But he have made some decent tunes don't you think? All though it is some time ago..

Posted by TranceElevation on Nov-18-2011 12:33:

he's a bitch ass nigga signaling videos for copyright

He always seems to be 'there', but I can't actually remember any of his tunes since 2004. The 'Once Upon A Night' albums (yet another of his compilation series which won't go beyond 2 installments) were beyond forgettable.

Sure, I used to be a fan. Liked him best as Albion, Moonman, Discodroids and System F. His last release I enjoyed was Star Traveller, but he had made a lot of easily forgettable tracks up until that release. It might be the nostalgia-goggles and me being much more susceptible to the uplifting trance-sound back in the late 90s, but after about 02-03 I lost interest.

Now I never listen to anything by him.

Talking

Haha! here's a challenge, try to post a track by Corsten that you actually like (if you can)

His best work was when he djed for Slipknot.

Live @ Spundae is the greatest live trance album of all time

'Punk' was the shit in my hard trance days.

Tiesto > Ferry

I think he made many awesome remixes. Dont listen to him any more, but dont listen a lot at all lately.

I never liked Punk.

I like all types of music.

Posted by Dj Pluviose on Nov-19-2011 03:01:

Hm.

I think Gouryella and Walhalla are the only good tracks. Beautiful and Brain Box is also good for clubbing.

Brain Box is in fact a very nice floor smashing track. It was one of the tracks that changed my life hearing it live. That song was so epic.

Made of Love?

Posted by Dj Pluviose on Nov-19-2011 03:43:

Made of Love was alright.

I like the drop because it actually has some texture and hypnotic feel to it, but I think the vocals are overdone. Meaning I heard too much of "Just take it away, blah blah, we're all made of love"

I heard that verse WAY too many times. You literally just get sick of it.
