Good Junkie XL News

quote:
TRANCE.NU -- Dutch producer / remixer Tom Holkenborg aka Junkie XL was phoned by Madonna with a nice request...

Written by: Twan van Loon, aka Dancemania
Since the succes from 'Elvis vs JXL - A Little Less Conversation' it's like the whole music industry wants to work together with Tom Holkenborg, the producer behind the Junkie XL concept!

Even Madonna made a phonecall to Tom Holkenborg to invite him to 'work something out in the future'.
Tom Holkenborg himself didn't wanted to speak about this news last weekend, after his performance at the Dutch Lowlands festival, but people from Roadrunner, his record-company are talking about a cooperation between Madonna and Junkie XL in the near future!

Other news about Junkie XL:

Junkie XL recently finished a remix for Natalie Imbruglia's new single called 'Beauty On The Fire'.

Sasha's album 'Airdrawndagger', which Junkie XL co-produced and on which he also co-wrote some tracks has been released on August 5th 2002.

Junkie XL did a remix for the talented act called 'Infusion' from Australia. The track named 'Legacy' will soon be released as a 12" on the Audio Therapy label.

And last but not least... it seems that 'Obsession', a track produced by DJ Tisto and Junkie XL is going to be released also very soon!

nice to know, eh!

Agreed.

I've been a fan of Junkie XL's since their (or now just his) first album and if someone said he was gonna do a remix like that back then I'd laughed 'til I died...

Hard to say yet - he lost most of his new material in a computer crash last spring so he had to make a bunch of new tunes...

BLAAAAAAAAAAAt

junkie xl - breezer is also massive
(and will also be on his new album)

I think it's fine, as long as he doesn't put the name Junkie XL on any of these commercial tracks, and instead continues to use JXL. Other than that, i just hope commercialism doesn't kill one of the best producers of recent times!!!

Ciao

selling out? commercial? how is junkie xl remixing madonna commercial?

above & beyond, oakenfold, superchumbo, sasha, dave seaman and many others have remixed madonna. in fact, several years ago, it was very common for pop songs to be remixed into house/trance tracks. less common today, but it happens. it doesn't make it a sell-out or commercial.

I'm impressed by the way Junkie XL is managing his career at the moment.. he's managed to conciliate the chart sucess as well as the top underground productions.

Do you blame him for winning a few bucks? if he stopped doing the good stuff to concentrate only on comercial shit I would blame him... but he's keeping the good stuff as well. that's louvable.
