New to Canada...need advice in going out.

Hello fellow TA's. My friends and I are going to vancouver from thursday to sunday. Totally last minute spur of the moment trip. Does anyone have any advice on good clubs (trance,house,electro, or even hiphop) to go to on a Thursday and Friday, and any info on dress code? Any advice will be gladly appreciated. Thanks!
