New Guv website (Chroma?)

Hey guys, been forever since I've been in TO for any events, but randomly decided to check the Guvs website for events, and noticed it has been overhauled.

I suppose this is pretty new, as there are next to no events listed at the moment. What caught my attention, however, was where all the rooms are listed towards the top of the page, the name "Chroma" is featured, followed by "Coming Soon"

Looking a bit longer, it was quickly noted that the Drink was not listed, so I assume the Drink/whatever they were calling it last is getting a makeover? If so, I may have to finally get out and check it whenever this happens.

The Orange Room / Acid Lounge are also missing

Both The Guv (main room?) and The Drink are closed for the next month for renovations.

they are adding condos

Drink, Gallery and orange room are being renovated, didn't head anything about the main room as the events are going to be happening again starting Jan 21st

The event on the 21st is in Kool Haus, though.

Guv has gone in a real commercial direction. Very interesting.

It would be nice if they renovated the main room... maybe bring back that LED WALL! lol

the LED wall is in koolhaus now. i doubt it will be moved again

I think they are opening Chroma inside The Gallery and moving the current gallery to The Orange room...

Worst case scenario they are closing The Gallery and making Chorma,The Orange Room and The Drink into kinda a separate Hiphop club (maybe including the Skybar).

I think you've jumped ahead of yourself here. This event you've listed is for a friday @ the guv. The following day has the usual Gallery style music... https://www.facebook.com/events/157459831028468/?ref=ts

If you read the Friday event carefully, it says it takes place in Chroma (Brand New Room) and Gallery (25+ Room). Looks like Orange Room is the one getting redone and Gallery will be the same

the gallery is cool because of the low ceilings and how its tucked away....
it would be awesome if they were able to connect the drink and orange room together with a seperate stair case.... which they would be able to close off.... that sounds interesting....
odds are the renovations aren't going to be to major.... and they just want a new name for the drink....

If the rumours are true, I'm hitting up the final Guv parties for nostalgic reasons!

If guv was to close its doors for good....who would be the final guest DJ to play Guv. There is no doubt that MO gets the last turn on the decks but which international DJ is the last international DJ to spin at Guv.
