edc stock, i mean tickets on sale now

~$250 for 3 day passes, i've got a feeling by june price is higher. or perhaps they will pull a circus move and lower rates as date approaches? who knows, since im not in the business.

now if only they would release a lineup of non recycled international headliners, local openers and national midcarders before spring is over

heh, get real :P

i got tickets tho. getting old now, and unlike last year i dont have to pick one or the other (coachella).

in any case, I have friends who are coming that I havent seen since HS. I'm not expecting a stellar lineup, at all. Am preparing for the general insomniac-shitfest, though

i didnt pay to go in 2011, and the only way ill go again is if i dont pay

not buying tickets til i see a dedicated deep house/tech house stage.... although if they actually end up having one, tickets will probably be sold out by that time.

Trite is the best way to describe Insomniac's lineups. Their riding this MTV style LMFAO music wave.

All you bitches are gonna go and schedule a TA meet-up at the water fountain or something

As for techno... I know the Insomniac talent buyer has been steadily trying to keep techno artists in the loop at all the massives and one off events. I wouldn't doubt it, if they get a couple good acts in there. Whether or not a couple of good acts is worth the price of admission, hotel, blah blah blah is another story.

You are correct, more stages = more techno acts. Some of the acts that I know that they are in talks with are repeats, which shouldn't be anything new just by looking at the line ups from the past few years.

I was on an artist guest list all 3 different days last year, and I still didn't go. I probably won't ask them again this year because I probably won't end up going again anyways.

The appeal of massives to me keeps on diminishing year after year...

As much as we all know me and Deadmau5 get along, I have to give it up to him and his 12min rant on massives. He hit the nail on the head and had several good points on why massives are a joke.

It's been deleted.

Seems like the mau5 has rescinded his rant...

"Deadmau5 caused controversy recently with a YouTube clip ranting against the annual electronic Ultra Music Festival held in Miami while seeming to later blame his outburst on 'severe depression.'"

Severe depression? You mean drug withdrawals

Posted by trojans14 on Jan-05-2012 04:59:

I bought IPO stock lol. The prices will only go up and you know people will pay ridiculous amounts of money to see Avicii, SHM, Afrojack, etc. A bunch of my friends are in LA and they want to go. I might go because it'll be a good time with friends I haven't seen in awhile at the very least. They might not have my favorite music, but I'm sure I can drag my friends to several DJs there that I could enjoy. They only know the big name djs anyway.

Now if they bring some techno djs and have a dedicated techno stage that would make me definitely want to go. Like someone mentioned earlier, Insomniac is bringing techno DJs to the US, like Adam Beyer and Ida Engberg in LA soon, and they had Umek, Green Velvet, and Ritchie Hawtin last year at EDC.

But what I really want to do is sell my ticket and go to DEMF. It's definitely the cheaper option by far. I don't know any friends that want to go though. I only have one friend into techno, and its kind of hard to convince other people to go to Detroit...Time to indoctrinate some people to love techno!

(the following isn't directed at you specifically, Nerologic)

almost all drug withdrawals cause depression (because of this part of your brain)

I know you're talking about the crash from MDMA (although more commonly the "crash" from ecstasy, is due more to the stimulants or other drugs contained and not the MDMA itself) as the source of the "depression". (deamau5 is a pretty big "troll" just FYI, so he could just be making all this up for attention, which wouldnt be a first for him, anyways...)

I don't think drugs are something to fuck around with without being fully educated on them. It's important to understand their full effects, especially if you are using these substances, which is really only dangerous if you don't understand what they do and why, etc. Especially important is to understand how much is safe, and how much is going to fuck you up for an entire week, tolerance levels and buildup time, etc etc etc (lol idiots taking 6+ pills)

Just a PSA to all the lurkers/inexperienced drug users: please read erowid.org at a bare minimum, it doesn't take more then a couple minutes to read all about that crazy new RC 25i-NOMbe/2C-*/MXE/ ur about to digest. be safe TAs

Drugs are illegal largely because of politics, but the continued prohibition is not helped by irresponsible users who end up hurting themselves (or others)

anyways, i hope they bring umek

SHIT, I wanted to see it....

How can he complain about massives when that is all he plays?

"The DJ/producer headlined the 2011 Ultra Music Festival while also performing at the 2008, 2009 and 2010 editions."

I've seen prescriptions do waaaaay worse things to people's overall behavior than illegal stuff.

But hey, at least he knows what he's getting! It's on the label!

EDIT: Unless you're talking about Viagra... it's totally Viagra...
