Need a live-in nanny for six months, any recommendations/references?

I need a live-in nanny for about six months and have some reservations about someone living in my home around my little guy obviously. I know there are lots of agencies that specialize in this type of thing but I was wondering if anyone has any experience with this? Any recommendations or references for a certain nanny or agency would be very helpful.

Thanks, I appreciate any help!

My best friend runs a placement service for live-in and live-out caregivers. They've been doing it for going on 5 years now and have been quite successful matching families with suitable help. Check out NannyNanny.ca or pm me for his personal contact details. Good luck!

How much are you looking to spend?

Well I have a idea of the costs by researching the numerous sites, but I don't need a 2 year contract as most offer. I'm more worried about finding the right person than of the costs to be honest.

Most monthly costs vary from $1000-$1500 for a live-in nanny, with room and board included obviously.

Perfect! That's exactly what I was hoping for but didn't want to come right out and say it. My house key is in the mail...

Well, since I'm looking for someone short term it's pretty tough. Most nanny's are looking for longer term employment and aren't interested in 4-6 months. I have been talking to some Au Pairs, which seems like the best option at this point since they are usually younger students looking to see a new country and don't mind the short term thing.

Would still prefer a personal reference from someone but that's been tough. I talked to the suggestion above (thanks again LightsOut) but was told again that short term is tough.

I'll keep you posted...
