Got my Tempest

And it sucks!! (For trance that is )

This machine is very cool, but way more Detroit / Minimal / 80ties type sounds than trance electro club type sounds, loads of bloops and bleeps but no jomox or TR909 type ploks, huge library of samples which ofcourse can be tweaked in realtime and very catchy swing settings.

here are the 16 preset demo pattern in high quality

Man, you sound like all the whiners over on KVR carrying on about Tremor's presets. Screw the presets, tweak that bitch, beoch!

I'd have no real use for that aside from the kicks, and for that I'd rather use a kick lancet

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Jan-11-2012 22:15:

no idea why people would want this for kicks. YOu want a synth for sounds that change over time. for kicks, use samples. For percussion you want to craft and have evolve, use a synth. IF you don't want sounds to chance, use samples. use a synth for sounds you do want to change.

And honestly, the kick lancet, why ? It has been sampled. Save yourself the money. I mean it sounds awful anyways. Like a fart machine but 10 times more than what you would expect a quality fart machine to cost.

i guess I haven't heard it outside of a youtube video

but it looks awesome

no, miley cirus in a bodysuit looks awesome. The lancet looks like some german made nazi implemented light dimmer.

No worries, will post some own patterns and tweaks later

Well I got it for Xmas and you can hear it in a tune I just made but I haven't put it up anywhere as I realised the worst part about the tune is....... the damned kick.

I'll try again with lancet but so far not quite what I'd hoped for

that's like finding out the girl you've had a crush on for months loves Nickleback and duckface

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Jan-12-2012 17:05:

i just got one too. Pretty neat little console.

Posted by Raphie on Jan-12-2012 19:45:

just updated to OS 1.3
the "Mininal Techno" project probably has the closest patches of for what i'm looking for. way too many fashionable techno stabs and wobbles in there to.

I need to create my own bank soon, as these example projects are shite.

Posted by Raphie on Jan-13-2012 13:59:

updated to os 1.1.5 today, machine becomes quite workable now
starting to get used to it sounds, but i guess most of us have been "spoiled" with processed sample packs, fit for the genre.

I guess i go try make some dusty minimal bleepy tracks. pounding techno beats is not really an option with this unit

Why did the OS numbers go backward?

If you don't like it, I will gladly take it off your hands for the cost of shipping to the U.S. I'm just a generous guy like that.

Posted by Raphie on Jan-13-2012 16:09:

should have been 1.1.3 typo from my side

returned the unit today, no decent kicks to be found, everything sounds way to synthy, like the sounds are made on a Tetra. Get myself a JOMOX XBASE-999 back.

And you sir, have terrible taste in both women and hardware design.

You could have picked any other and it would have been a better choice. If I was lumped with her I'd shave her head and teach her to walk on her hands.

And All synths should look like they came of the Nazi production line. Look at any Neumann mics, All the classic Mercs, and leather jackets & boots. Need I go on?

lol

the miley thing was an inside joke i suppose i only got. Sometimes i say things that will make me laugh later on. YOu remember the miley story no ? pretty sure i told you it. Like a year or 2 ago.

lol nazis. They were fashionistas at heart. Just a little heavy handed on the whole engenic jew thing.

But really, the lancet is so pointless or should i say limited ? I needs a way better distortion unit. I mean it needs to be able to make more than one type of kick.

Apparently i have bad taste in music.

Oh, LOL, I forgot about that. Yes, now I get the reference
