Groovefest - Dominican Republic - September 5th to 12th - ALL INCLUSIVE?!
I think this looks pretty fun! End of the summer, the acts and music sound more on the housey, groovy tip, not all tech/minimal.
ALL INCLUSIVE! And the rates are not that bad and pretty reasonable considering all the parties and your drinks etc...

GROOVEFEST HITS DOMINICAN REPUBLIC While people's desire for festivals in ever more exotic locations has grown at a rapid rate over the past few years, a new event taking place in the Dominican Republic certainly takes the biscuit when it comes to idyllic settings. Groovefest is set to hit the Caribbean island between September 5-12 with Jamie Jones, Kenny Dope, Horse Meat Disco and Defected all in tow to provide the soundtrack with loads more acts and labels soon to be announced. The festival takes place in a five star resort and all food, drink, transfers and entrance fees are included in the price. Accommodation at the festival ranges from studio suites and villas right up to a presidential suite dependent on your budget. All accommodation comes with a fridge stacked full of ice cold drinks and alcohol of your choice which will be re-stocked each day. Sounds better than mud sodden fields and dodgy burgers to Mixmag. Packages start at 744 and can be payed in four installments. Click here for full details. |
I didn't know they had Roman amphitheaters in the Dominican Republic...
And by looking, most rooms and packages are around 750.
UK 750 = 1 175.00131 Canadian dollars
You'll still need your flight however... which on the cheap from Toronto looks like...
$500 on Air Transat and $450 with Sunwing.
Great concept (with all inclusive included) - and some really good bookings too (Jamie Jones, Alexis Raphael, No Artificial Colours & Horse Meat Disco are all great) - might consider this one!
they should do this in Cabo.

| Originally posted by Mach X Probably much cheaper in Dominican Republic, and Puerto Plata is one of the cheaper but developed places in DR with enough infrastructure to pull this off. And judging from what is on their site and promotion, it's going to be probably geared more towards UK and Europe as well as NA, so probably more reasonable to get flights to DR from EU. |
