Groovefest - Dominican Republic - September 5th to 12th - ALL INCLUSIVE?!

I think this looks pretty fun! End of the summer, the acts and music sound more on the housey, groovy tip, not all tech/minimal.

ALL INCLUSIVE! And the rates are not that bad and pretty reasonable considering all the parties and your drinks etc...

I didn't know they had Roman amphitheaters in the Dominican Republic...

And by looking, most rooms and packages are around �750.

UK �750 = 1 175.00131 Canadian dollars

You'll still need your flight however... which on the cheap from Toronto looks like...

$500 on Air Transat and $450 with Sunwing.

Great concept (with all inclusive included) - and some really good bookings too (Jamie Jones, Alexis Raphael, No Artificial Colours & Horse Meat Disco are all great) - might consider this one!

Probably much cheaper in Dominican Republic, and Puerto Plata is one of the cheaper but developed places in DR with enough infrastructure to pull this off. And judging from what is on their site and promotion, it's going to be probably geared more towards UK and Europe as well as NA, so probably more reasonable to get flights to DR from EU.

Cabo is just more fun. More actual clubs if you want a break from the hotel.

Good Reviews??? If by good you mean "worst experience ever" "Go Elsewhere" "Horrible place" "Awful Service" than yes those look like good reviews.

You gotta filter through them... there is also a bunch of "Excellent", "Great value" and "We had a great time!" as well. Trip advisor is like that, the hotel's rating is "Ranked #15 of 51 hotels in Puerto Plata". And it's based on the price. Don't just read the tagline. Usually there is ONE specific thing that happened to them that put them off and made them give a horrible review of the whole trip.

And actually read most of the terrible reviews... it's people who think All Inclusive means you get a butler. This is pretty much why most people who go on all inclusive vacations think it sucks. They think they essentially get a servant and waited on hand and foot for the entire 7 days.

All Inclusive means most your amenities are covered and included in the price, not that you can snap your fingers and have your shoes shined, or if your hot you can have someone fan you down.

Or it's people who went with a family and hated that it was full of drunks and loud at night and young people everywhere. Or vica versa, couple or young people going and finding it boring as fuck and nothing to do, so they started focusing on the beach, activities or food and found them to be sub - par.

Not saying it's the fuckin Hilton, but sometimes I can't believe how judgmental and horrible the reviews are on Trip Advisor. People spending under a grand for a tropical vacation with flight and hotel and food and drinks, and thinking they're gonna be treated like royalty as if they're a movie star or kicking back on a $2500 Club Med vacation.
