hardstyle in t.o.

anyone know of any parties or places that have hardstyle dj's spinning?? there used to be a club called Bassmint at Queen and Bathurst that would have a lot of hardcore and hardstyle. i love this stuff, it sounds wicked at a club!!!

well I think that in one of those boat cruise event threads they mentioned something about "S4" aparently he is a hard-house/hard-trance dj! Hope that helps, but I would love to hit up any hard-trance events my self but don't really know of any taking place any time soon!

There is very little (if any) true hardstyle in toronto. The only place I could think you might find some would be at Nightmare's weekly friday night event at Audiowerks lounge. I know it's harder-edged techno, trance and house, but as for hardstyle specifically, I don't know for sure.
S4 spins hardtrance and nu-nrg with the occasional hardstyle track thrown in, but tends to stick to UK styles. However he is becoming more interested in german style stuff as well...

I've never heard of this place, where is it located? Do they have a website?

Ummmmm if hardstyle is the kind that you're speaking of than VIVA is the place for it!!! Before Gielen came on the guy spinning dropped some wicked hard shit but it was cool had some trancey uplifting bits in them. Was really nice.

im sure you guys have heard it before if you go to clubs and parties alot, even in to. its just basically slowed down hardcore. plus it has a more techno feel, like instead of the kick+snare or kick+clap in hardcore, it has a really hard pounding bass drum.

Some people consider Scott Project to be hardstyle - a lot of his stuff definitely has the right elements, but he also tends more towards hardtrance as well. Check out this for a huge list of some hardstyle tracks. My own track, "Destruction" even made someone's list on the last page!

The only place I have ever heard REAL hardstyle is at Viva, which in essence is mostly Italian hard techno trance. Hartec plays a lot of it there, eg.. Titanic, Wicked, Activa, Subway, Sigma, Red alert etc.. : are the labels I've heard him play on a regular basis.
