simon cowell to launch x factor for djs
http://www.mixmag.net/words/news/si...-factor-for-djs
"Oh dear. Simon Cowell is to launch an X Factor style TV show to find the next big DJ.
He has teamed up with Jada Pinket Smith to start work on the show, which so far does not have a name.
At this time Mixmag is unsure whether the man known for wearing nipple-hugging trousers is going to call it 'Decks Factor' or not, but we do know that Smith's production company Overbrook today issued a statement confirming the plan.
In the statement Cowell said: "DJs are the new rock stars, it feels like the right time to make this show.
Could this be the end of dance music as we know it? Is Cowell about to breed a new generation of mainstream dubstep DJs? Will the judging panel feature Afrojack and Paris Hilton? Only time will tell.
More grim details will no doubt follow shortly."

God dammit I was JUST gonna post this, yo u beat me to it.
This is retarded. Dj Quim FTW

so how would this show work...a DJ comes on stage mixes two tracks together and walks off.
This might work if they were looking for the next big producer.
Oh god.
So this is a comedy show?
EDIT: I'm also sure Guetta has a hand in this in someway. Jada and Will were seen together with Guetta at his "F**K ME, I'M FAMOUS" party here in Miami during the Art Basel event in the beginning of December.
a whole nation facepalmed. it's true.

DJ Trainwreck here I come!
This will definitely have to revolve around turntablism... it's not too exciting to watch an EDM DJ do a smooth 2 minute transition! Not that it's a bad thing...

No way the show would do well if it was built on turntablists.
