for your EARS

so i'm sitting here at working and doing work related research, and then i come across this:

Hearing Loss Prevention Program for Teens

Tinnitus (ringing in the ears) is a common and often disturbing accompaniment of occupational hearing impairment and has a risk for teenagers attending pop concerts and discotheques."

The Hearing Foundation of Canada sees an urgent need to make teens and pre-teens aware now of the hazard of overexposure to noise will cause to their hearing in the years ahead.

some precautions:

-Buy ear plugs for concerts and dances. (If they think that's not cool, tell them musicians like Metallica band members wear ear plugs)

-Let them know that stuffing tissue in their ears does not work - it muffles sound but does nothing to protect against damage.

-Tell them to stay away from the speakers, and go outside every half an hour and give their ears a break

-And if they have ringing in their ears after an event, that is a sign of over exposure and damage to their ears

i don't know about the rest of you, but i think my hearing has been affected...yay!!!! ummm....where's the nearest speaker??

i heard about something cool from a friend of mine. There are now -he saw on tv- xmas tree shaped ear plugs, which filter out the low-frequency (which is what damages your ears) yet, leaves the high-frequencies untouched. You can still FEEL the bass, and hear the treble.. i gotta try those..

Those tree earplugs sounds like a cool product, if you happen to get your hands on some tell us where you got them.

a friend of mine from Germany told me this story:

She was on Ibiza with a friend of hers for the closing party with Sven. When they got home at like 8 am the next morning (they went to the club at 10am the day before ) they were just laying down when they heard a beat from outside. So she was like "Cool, they are playing music again already "
Her friend answered "Yeah, that is the new one from Vth"
"Why don't u go, open the window, so that we can hear it better"
Her friend goes to open the window, then suddenly starts laughing
"What?"
"That wasn't music, it was a ship in the harbor"

She found it amsuing that they actually recognized a SONG!!!
