Question Do you ever prefer other artists' remixes of your songs?

Just curious to know if any of you guys ever find that you prefer other peoples' remixes of your original songs? If so, why? Shameless self-promotion is expected here: post your original and the remixes.

That is a cool remix. Yours has a deeper, darker vibe to it, his has more drive. Both very cool.

Posted by MSZ on Feb-11-2012 05:12:

all the remixes are better than my original, but there are a few people that like the original a lot.

ive been remixing a lot, sometimes the remix pack has fuck all in it, i end up making a new track. then some big jocks play it and they put my remix on their soundcloud blablabla.

actually its rather funny, ill show you what i mean.

Code Duello - Sneak
Here's the original:

The Dyron Remix:

Totally dwarfs the original.

edit:

No cryophonik post on his material? No need to be humble here man, post your thoughts on your own stuff.

What's so hard to understand? You created a song, somebody else remixed it in their vision. Do you sometimes find yourself liking their version better than yours and, if so, why?

Maybe I should have started another thread about sidechaining instead?

I can see why you'd think that, but personally, the original is more my style. Very cool track!

I'm too lazy right now, but I will later.

I (not always) prefer my remixes over the originals haha. Apart from that I've only had 3 of my singles remixed and while I was impressed I never really preferred them over the original. Yes, I am that arrogant and deluded!

Thanks man! How is the pack coming?

I agree sometimes! I can't put it up yet because it's not released yet however it will be in two weeks - Mas cerca is the name and the artist Arrakeen did a remix. He added a fat nice lead at the end of the track which changed the vibe (in a good way). The rest of the mix is nice too!

Also I find that by the time tracks get released you have listened to them so much you prefer something different

That's a really good point.

I had one that was pretty much the opposite. A remix I did that made the original even shittier than it already was. After the release was postponed for too long I released it as an original ST track several years later. But now I can't remember who made the original so I can't put up a comparison .

Edit: Found out with some Googlin'. Now I can't find any copy of the original online...

OK, here is one example of a song that I prefer the remix over the original. After Aliciya and I finished the original, we sorta went "meh". At the time, neither of us were all that keen on sending our songs to labels, but we were so....IDK, unimpressed?...with this track that we just basically said, what the hell, let's send it to a few labels and see what happens, and much to our surprise, it got signed immediately. Then, we heard the Callum B remix and basically shat ourselves.

ORIGINAL

Callum B Remix
