Go-Karting

Hi all,

I'm planning on doing something low-key for my birthday and I decided that Go Karting would be one of the events. I was wondering if anyone has any places to recommend? It'll be on a Saturday afternoon..looking at around 15 people. And I'm interested in something that is on a timed basis rather than Lap.

Much appreciated!

+1

Just went their for a corporate function at it was a lot of fun. They give each person a print out at the end of each race with your lap times and rank ect.

^ a lot of places do that (the print out)
Mini-Indy in Sauga as well, but I've only been to their indoor space

Oh...lol, guess it just goes to show I haven't been go-karting very often!

I love it, but I don't go as often this summer, it's a must!

I used to go here a lot.

The karts were fast, the track was fun. Sadly have not been in years, but I do remember it being lap based, which got very expensive very quickly.

Anyone wanna plan a TA Kart night?

This sounds like my kind of fun.

not till summer anyway

Tip: if you go kart drunk, your lap times drop.

True story

brampton one is indoors

so is the Sauga one I mentioned
it's MUCH more fun outdoors - for one you don't get covered in tiny pieces of black stuff from tires as much and don't enhale all that crap from the engines too, and also the outdoor tracks are larger

I'd organize one but like I said, in the summer

Posted by cammaxwell on Feb-17-2012 15:54:

I'm in, sounds like fun.

Organizing one now might be better, limited activities in the winter compared to summer and we'll all have less on our plates. The one at Downsview is indoors and easy to get to for those taking TTC?

Thanks for all the info guys, I appreciate it.

Btw, I'd be down for a TA go-kart event in the summer

I've never been to a good place in Toronto, but in Ottawa (Hull to be specific) there is a place called Top Karting. It's an indoor place and if you can find one that's similar don't ask questions just go. Totally changed my views on go karts. You can hit anywhere from 80-100kmh on straights depending how the track is setup and they really grip nicely. If this is an 8/10 place I'd say everything else I've tried is a 4/10. Sorry it's not in Toronto but I'm sure there must be one similar around here...

The absolute best thing to do would be to go out to Mosport for a day. Yes its a drive, but it would be worth it.

I used to love track days there on the bikes! But do mean on go-karts?
